Why are people forgetting the innovation of the touch motion bar and lightbar on ps4?

I feel like im so relaxed with the ps4 controller i can use it mouse to scroll through websites its a great big button as well for gaming.

the light bar not enough has been said about this masterpiece at night its pitch black in my room the light helps me see my drinks and remote control it really just saves the day for me.

it also blinks if its low on power giving me a heads up to charge it and then it turns orange when charging.

its just perfect everything about it what the hell did microsoft or nintendo do to innovate controllers like this. My battery is insane i feel like it lasts 5-6 hours without charging. Maybe i got lucky or something.

if he likes it, good for him. My Surface pro is always on while I'm gaming, usually with a Podcast on unless its something new like GoW in which I want to be immersed.

The light bar? LMAO my TV lights up the room enough for me to see anything I need like my drink, remote, whatever. How low are you guys putting your HDTVs brightness setting? LOL That light is pointless. Not to mention, I don't need my remote to switch inputs on X1X. HDMI pass through baby.

I prefer the Xbone controller to the PS4, other than the fact that it takes AA batteries and this is 2018. I shouldn't have to purchase a charging pack.

Soon as I bought my Xbox One S I made sure to pick up a rechargeable battery pack. Why that isn't standard I'll never know.

That light bar on the PS4 more disappointing than Kratos' son.

As dumb as it sounds, I seem to use the light a lot to find the controller or my beer etc. You would think the tv would be bright enough, but with black remotes, I guess not. I don't use the touchpad for anything other than a button, which it's actually really nice for.

OP, you forgot to mention the speaker on the controller... Pretty cool feature that even the Wii had.

Really love seeing the light reflected on my TV while I'm playing.

The light bar was cool on GTAV when you had stars and it would switch from red and blue but other than that I just use the bar to auto sign in when I sit down. The touch Pad is nice, but I usually use it for an additional button.

The speaker in the controller is what I really like. It's criminally unused, but the additional sounds that come out (like phone calls in game in GTA, or the sizzle sound in Shadow of mordor when you grab them, even the scanning sound in zero dawn.) Add immersion to the game and I really with a feature as cool as that was utilized more.

And is your TV off when you're playing? You can find your remote and drinks with the controller light but not a huge rectangular source of light?

Last time I used the trackpad for more than 10 seconds was with the demo for it pre purchase.

Don't even get me started on the analogue stick and button layout.

Because they're not used in a great way. Most of the time it seems the touchpad is just a big start button replacement. And I wish there was a way to turn off the DS4 night light

People also might have forgotten about the sixaxis controls. They low key kept it in there. GT Sport supports the sixaxis controls.

Forgettable features to be honest. If the only reason you use them is to surf the Internet and find shit with the light. Wow. I will not be surprised if Sony doesn't scrap those features on the next controller.

When I play the Xbox or Switch I have never think man I miss the light bar or motion bar on the PS4 controller.

Maybe ask Sony, even they have forgotten about those gimmicks

Have you used the PS4 controller on PC? It's pretty damn nifty. So it's a great controller for that at least.

-ummm, aside from the light bars... Nintendo is responsible for every other thing that a DS4 does, including button layout, dpad, shape, speaker, analog sticks, rumbling, motion/gyro... Nintendo did it all, Sony didn't invent the wheel here just sayin' is all.

The light bars CAN be used well, but only a few games use of them outside of VR is stand out. VR is the only reason to really have them unfortunately.

You can buy rechargeable batteries. I personally dislike charging packs as I can never find the cord I need to charge the controller as is the case with my PS3, but it is easy for me to keep spare batteries in my drawer.

I am relieved the xbox one controller doesn't have a speaker in it. Last thing I need to annoy me and anger my neighbors at night - that's what a headset is for!
