Why are MS and Nint shopping for PS3 games?

What is this? I've never seen anything like it before this gen:

Only a few weeks ago we read about Microsoft shopping for Metal Gear Solid....

Why do Nintendo and Microsoft think that they can shop for their favorite PS3 games, as though they "don't belong?"

well simply because if they get those games too then PS3 gets undermined. if MGS4 and FF13 popped up on 360, that would be a blow to PS3 since ppl wouldnt need the machine to play them. its competition.

good ol reggie...praising sony...then giving them the little dig :P. looking foreward to little big planet, looks like a really kewl game. i think it belongs to sony though so there would be no chance of it appearing on a non sony platform.

Because PS3 is dead in the water. People say it's too early to judge, but it's going to take a miracle to bring them back. Only a small percentage of potential buyers are interested in games like MGS4 and LBP, and with 360 getting software like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Madden, GTA, etc. there is literally noincentive for the average consumer to buy a PS3 (not to mention many of those games are made BETTER on the cheaper console).

And the PS3 isn't even in the same league as the Wii. Japan might have saved Sony, but with Wii capitalizing on DS and snagged Monster Hunter 3... It's dead... might as well port the games so the more savvy consumers get to play MGS and LBP.

I can't blame them , MGS4 and LBP are driving people wild with desire and curiosity.

Hmm, because it seems to be easy to make former PS3 exclusives multiplats or even non-exclusives.
I guess the low popularity (compared to Wii and 360) does this, developers have to bring out the exclusive PS3 games to other platforms as well to get their well-earned money.Sgt_Crow

But both of these developers (Media Molecule, Kojima) have stated their satisfaction with the PS3 and their willingness to keep both titles exclusive. It isn't up to Reggie or Shane Kim to change their minds...

Are you serious? Here we have Microsoft and Nintendo praising these games, but they're not worth anything to the consumer unless they're on the XBox or the Wii? Do you understand the blatant hypocrisy I'm trying to expose here?

They aren't released yet... things happen... It's everything you read is PR spin...

That said MGS4:GotP I don't see being multiplat... but MGS4:S ... Yep...

The thing is.. Kojima devs dont really have to make the port for the 360. They can get someone like Silicon Knights to make the port.

yep the ps3 is dead even though its selling more than the 360 with a higher price and no games and its games are so good that ms and nintendo want them. next time think before you type.
