I like what I watched. Reminds me strongly of RE4; the atmosphere, the action, the self-aware camp.
As long as they don't make the same mistake they made with RE5, then it will be dandy. Not saying RE5 was a bad game - I played through it three times - I just don't think they knew what they wanted it to be, resulting in clashing nonsense between trying to be all serious and sci-fi, and boulder punching. Decide with you want to be, then stick with it.
Being honest, does seem a step-backwards compared to something like Halflife: Alyx.
Stuff like "press E" and having scripted "mans hand do stuff" coupled with a flat-plane crosshair stuck in the middle of the screen feels (dare I say it) an antiquated experience to now what is possible.
It's VR (assuming it gets it) will be quite limited.
Sounds pretty good. I really like the RE4 vibes coming from it. Just started watching the showcase now. I’m watching the Twitch stream from Maximilian. Looking forward to his thoughts and opinions from what they show.
Was a really good showcase I am highly surprised at how good it is. Btw is it a multiplatform release? Cause I watched at Playstation channel so they dont mention any other consoles but I am assuming it will come to all.
I just realized, Ethan has terrible luck. Twice now he got his loved one kidnapped and he has to visit (and get mutilated) these abandoned houses to save his loved ones.
Just finished the demo. Good stuff. They better give us Professional/Hardcore difficulty from the first playthrought. Don't want to beat the game to unlock the difficulty this is supposed to be played on.

but my friend apart from this and 7, nearly all of RE games been action games. that also include RE4.
this feel like proper horror game with intelligent level design.
The Resident Evil series to me is at a point where if it were to come out on Game Pass, I MIGHT try VIII, but if not, no way I would spend money on another Resident Evil title. I really liked the old style titles like 1, 2, 3, CV, and the RE1 HD remaster was pretty good. IV was okay, but not my favorite, and I really started liking some of the co-op aspects of V and VI. But VII was so terrible that I am pretty much done with the series, especially if they're still going to go into that direction of solo, first person gameplay that feels more like a rebranded indie horror game than a Resident Evil title.

7 and 8 are not similar. Seven was linear with no enemies variety whatsoever. Eight is supposed to have an open world like setting with a bunch of enemies and places to explore. The only similarity they have in common is first person.
Looks great. Won't pick it up though until I get either a PS5 or XSX. Started playing RE7 again after watching the Village trailer, looks so nice on the OLED!
The game looks gorgeous and creepy as hell. My only concern is the 1st person view. I am not preordering but will definitely check it out sooner or later. I also want to find out first if the PS5 or Xsex version will be best. I am hoping for a high framerate and resolution.

Oh it definitely looks like id enjoy it more than RE4, but I didn't like RE4 at all so its not saying a lot.
none of RE games were any good pre RE7. they always were overrated. RE7 put First person view result in better controlling, better gameplay and also immersion. also put horror over action. unlike 4/5/6.
Really disappointed with the demo. Shit definitely looks like a ps4/xbox one game. Not next gen at all. No talk about VR support(RE7 VR is a must play).

That is awesome. I can't wait to pay more for harder difficulty. 😋 Imagine if this only applied to the console versions. 😮
