Whoopsie: Scorn trailer on Xbox Series X was actually running on PC

Scorn's trailer was run on a Ryzen CPU, and GeForce RTX 2080 Ti -- not the Xbox Series X.

"Now, this is a tricky question as for some reason a lot of people feel that it should be quite easy to get 4K 60FPS on the PC even with this graphical fidelity, and that really isn't the case. For the showcase we used 2080Ti and a Ryzen processor just because there was no reason not to use it, but a 2070 Super with a mixture of settings is adequate to run the game at 4K 60FPS".

No surprise these companies have been lying for years do people actually think that Watch_Dogs E3 2012 demo was running on a console? lol same goes for all the other downgrades of this gen.

Aside that, what is Scorn and why this game getting some media news? Does not seem like its anything different from other 1st person horror/dark fantasy game released this gen like Agony or GTFO.

It kind of is though, all sorts of smoke and mirrors are deployed during the hype up of a new console gen, happens more or less every time, it only becomes an issue when what is being presented is clearly not going to be anywhere near achievable on production hardware.

No clue. I've only recently heard of it during the May event -- and this trailer shows nothing. Not sure why it's getting attention.

For once, tormentos has a good point. It is pretty ironic that they demo'd the game on the strongest Nvidia card on PC rather than an AMD card or the next purported console which contains an AMD card.

@DragonfireXZ95: There wasn't even any gameplay shown for that specific game. And there was a disclaimer indicating that it wasn't even running on the console. In fact every single trailer had that same disclaimer. Of course you can cherry pick whatever you want, it's the internet. But how much more transparent can one be? Trailers said it was indicative footage and developer on interview openly says what was it running on.

I was just a simple trailer showing concept art. Jesus Christ you people really are too much. Let's all be shocked that the trailer that said it wasn't running on an XSX was not running on a SXS, and at the developer openly said the hardware it was running on. OMG lets all unite and cancel MS, what a scandal.

The game was originally designed exclusively for PC, so I don't blame them for using a PC to demo the game. I would just assume an Xbox conference would want to use an Xbox to demo the game or at least similar components, but that's just me.

If it were any other game conference not owned by a console maker, then we wouldn't be laughing at the irony.

Also to their defence Xbox right now and moving forward will release everything on PC day one.

Maybe it was, but its not like 12.1tflops with a good cpu won't be able to handle some indie game.

You guys are aware this game was announce back in 2014 right? Scorn went off the radar, I personally thought it already release like around 2016. I guess its getting new media now that the game is nearly done it seems.

That was the Killzone 2 presentation at E3 2005. Allegedly it was only meant as a proof of concept until a PlayStation marketing person told a journalist it was running real time on a PS3.
