Poll Who is the best Call of Duty developer? (87 votes)
With Call of Duty being a mainstay of gaming at this point, it's very easy to ignore it for when it does accomplish something, but I still think the studios behind the games need to be lauded for their consistency and for juat how fresh they manage to keep the games feeling year in, year out.
But who is your favorite Call of Duty developer?
I personally excluded Sledgehammer Games from my list, because while Advanced Warfare is great, it is a) not as good as Infinity Ward or Treyarch's best, and b) just one game- the studio has a long way to go to prove itself.
So, between Infinity Ward and Treyarch, it basically comes down to this: while Infinity Ward have Modern Warfare under their belt, that is... also all they have. The first two CoD games were great, nothing remarkable, and every Infinity Ward CoD game since Modern Warfare has been a shitshow (albeit MW2 was still fun in a Smash Bros. kind of way). In addition, Infinity Ward also made Ghosts, which is the single worst entry in the franchise.
As for Treyarch... they used to be really awful (they made Call of Duty 3, after all), but their consistency since then has been amazing- World at War was great, and probably the best WW2 era shooter we got, Black Ops is absolutely amazing, and probably the best game in the series (both, single player and multiplayer), Black Ops II deserves credit for having tried to make so many innovations in both the campaign and multiplayer... and of course, they introduced Zombies to the series, and the world is a better place for having had Call of Duty Zombies.
Every time Treyarch announces a new Call of Duty game, my interest in the series automatically rises. This year's Call of Duty is Treyarch. I anticipate it being one of the top ones.
