Who here is buying a WiiU just for Zelda?

Well....after seeing some of the Zelda footage....I'm buying a WiiU.

It looks like the Zelda I've been waiting for since A Link to the Past. Don't now and never really did want any game that the WiiU offered but this....yup....this one is a system seller.

Legitimate question, as a Wii U owner and Zelda fan: why not wait for NX?

It doesn't look very good compared to games like Horizon and Witcher 3.

It looks better than Horizon. Can't compare it to W3 yet, but it looks en route to be better than it or Skyrim.

I've owned a Wii U for a few years now.

Also if all you want out of the Wii U is the new Zelda you might as well wait for the NX and see if that will more games along with Zelda that interest you. If you're getting a Wii U it should be because it has a good amount of games outside of just one you want (which in my case there are for the Wii U).

Well, I grew up on Zelda so it hold a special place in my heart and while it might not be as action packed it looks like the Zelda I've been waiting for.

Either way it looks fun.

Why not pickup Super Smash Bro, Mario Kart 8 don't understand just getting zelda and chillin with just that game.

I guess bc I can't wait.

Like I said all along I want a Zelda game that's less like OoT, MM and WW and this looks to be it.

Also that I said I would buy a WiiU if Zelda looked good.

How far away is the NX though. I guess if it's not that far away I can wait.

Yeah if you're going to buy a Wii U just for Zelda, just do what the others have said, wait for the NX.

Agreed. We know the game is coming to both, and it's been confirmed that the game will be the same on both platforms, so why not just buy the NX, that way you have a system that'll last you a few years instead of been dead as soon as you finish Zelda.

The trailer is what I first saw when Reggie came on screen. Lets just say I am not impressed considering how long it has been in development. This looked like the bastard child of Dragon's Lair and Wind Waker.

I have a Wii U, but don't get it just for Zelda.

This, Nintendo messed up with that and holiday season seems like a wasteland for those who have only a wiiU

I'm just waiting for the NX to come out for it.

I own a WiiU, and i'm still buying an NX (unless they really screw the pooch) and one of the main reasons would be Zelda.

I'll be buying it for NX most likely. I won't buy an NX for the game, but it will be a reason I jump in quickly.

Yikes. Its gonna take a hell of an effort to overtake Witcher 3. From what they are showing so far its safe to say it wont.

You're better off waiting for the NX version. NX is going to launch with Zelda. It was rumored that it was held back from launching this year because they want it launched with NX

Plus you'll be future proof in case another zelda game comes further down the road.

So I guess after this thread discussion I'll just wait for the NX version.

Cant wait to play this game though.

Already have a Wii U... and for a lot more than just Zelda. I bought it for Bayonetta, Deus Ex (once the price dropped), LEGO (a re-buy of Marvel, which I already had for 360, want LEGO City though, lucky UK getting it cheaper), Tekken (got Tag 2 again), Splatoon, Mario, Donkey Kong, and Smash (which, while a good game, is unfortunately weaker than Brawl).

Can get it cheap on Wii U. NX gonna cost yah. Since just want Zelda, id just buy cheapest way to play it.

I'm going to wait for the NX to see if the system is worth getting.

It didn't even look that good to me (though I honestly only skipped through about 10-15 minutes of the Zelda footage... not the whole thing).

I was wowed more by the Xenoblade footage, and that didn't even make me get a Wii-U. It's not like the Wii-U has no games at all, it has a handful of excellent games already. But that isn't enough for me. Way too late for Zelda to move the needle with me on this dead console.

Might pick up the NX version, depending on if the NX itself looks promising. I'm not committing to it until I see it.

Unless you're getting one deeply discounted, you'd be silly to. And it'd be idiotic to buy one now, knowing the NX is imminent and LoZ will be available there.

Thought exclusives were all that mattered around here, why don't you peeps already have Wii U? Mine has more games than ps4

It's not just about "cheapest". There is a price/value element. Wii-U was a bad deal 2 years ago, now it's even worse. It would take a special kind of idiot to buy a Wii-U now unless it's being clearanced out of the major retail stores, or possibly found in a dumpster or Goodwill store.

It has games, how would it be dumb to buy it...unless we're riding the Wii U hating train.

I mean it would be dumb to pay basically the price it's been for 2 years, when the console is at the end of life, and is now at it's all time low point for monthly sales in North America.

You sound hurt mate. TC is grown-up, im sure they can weigh their options. TC said all they wanted was Zelda. So i told TC cheapest way to get what they wanted.

I'll admit Zelda looks pretty damn good, but better than Witcher? Don't think so! Lol.

@DJ-Lafleur: If he's buying just for the Wii U, he should take a look at the library it already has. Notable gems include Super Mario 3D World, Captain Toad, Splatoon, and Bayonetta 2 to name a few.

I own a WiiU, bought it for Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101. Zelda looks solid though.

I bought WiiU just for Zelda...at WiiU release day and i still waiting for the Zelda game.

With the artstyle Nintendo have with this new Zelda game i dont think some extra hardware power will make much of a difference if any at all.

Only reason to get NX i can think of is maybe faster loadtime and no noisy sounds from disc player like WiiU have since NX was going to have cartridges right?

@mr_huggles_dog: Nintendo is staggering the release of the Zelda Wii U version so that the NX can have it as the same time.

We saw them do this before with Twilight Princess.

I said en route to being better than Witcher, which yes, it could be. Nintendo does game design better than CDPR.

One should buy an NX for Zelda. Buying a Wii U right now would be such a waste of money when the NX is coming out early next year.

Definitely not from the looks department. The gameplay didn't seem like anything special either. Why is it so much better than Horizon/Skyrim?

Same for me, unless the NX turns out to be uber awesomesauce and I want that version instead.

It's a smarter designed open world- the world doesn't just exist to add to the bloat, it's basically one giant designed level that the player can play.

I do agree Witcher and Horizon look better, but they're on the most powerful console of the generation, and Zelda is on the weakest one, so... no shit?

It's called an opinion, and he obviously doesn't mean graphics. He fell in love with Zelda, just as you fell in love with Horizon.

The moment i saw the art style i fell in love but it's the game play which I'm not buying yet looking at game play videos i didn't see anything special.

Watch through the full Treehouse footage, it looks like the direction Zelda needed to go in after Wind Waker.

Why do you keep assuming I'm only talking about visuals? How many times do I have to say its not just visuals I'm comparing?
