In this thread we talk about gaming top 5 best and worst protaonist and heres mine

Best

1. Agent 47 (from hitman)
2. Tommy Angelo (from Mafia 1)
3. Max Payne
4. JC denton (from original deus ex)
5. Artyom (from Metro series)

So they are my top fav. agent 47 is coolest gaming character i have ever seen he is neither bad nor good but he is agent and urban legend who know how to do his job done. tommy angelo is most well written gaming character i have ever seen. thanks to how incredible writing was in mafia 1. max payne was iconic character. artyom may not have much of character but the story in metro series make him excellent character imo.

Worst

1. Lara Croft (post reboot)
2. Jason Broody (far cry 3)
3. Ezio (from assassins creed 2)
4. any of resident evil protagonist as they are all shallow imo
5. Faith (from mirrors edge)

Lara croft reboot one is undoubtly worst main character in history of gaming i have ever seen. she is just terrible. I like far cry 3 but can stand jason broody. he is so annoying.

• Kayne & Lynch, I loved those games, but they were hilariously bad characters. I think GTA 5 took some ideas from Lynch and made it a better version of the character.

agreed about new order blazkowicsz. cant believe how they butcher the cool character of BJ into some generic hero with emotions.

also imo both lara croft are shallow character but new one is worst of all time.

2. Triss Merigold (Witcher 3) - Most sexy

3. Talia Al Ghul (Arkham City) - very hot

4. Shandi (Saints row 3) -bitchy and hot

5. The two female characters from Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 - pretty hot

Worst:

1. Master Chef (Halo) - Most overrated character in the history of gaming

2. Marcus Penix (Gears of War) - just some steroid junkie

3. Gordon Freeman (Half Life 2) - a Nobody, not sure why everyone loves him

4. Lara Croft (TR Reboot) - basically they took away everything which made the original Lara Croft (legends, underworld) appealing. We all know what that is ;-)

That's what was cool about her, she was a archetype of James Bond/Jones. You don't need depth in a character. She was at her best as Indiana Jones with big bewbs. As soon as you get all the back story about her child-hood and friends... who cares?

Same with the Duke, Earthworm JIm and Leon/Clair, they are love letters to action genre. Earthworm Jim and Duke being satirical. Or whatever.

Abe (Abe Oddysee e.t.c..) is also great. Instead of giving you a gun and blasting crap like it's an even playing field he uses ingenuity and is anything but your typical hero character. He's ugly, malnourished abit dopey and scared , nside a brillaint universe brimming with character.

Also a candidate for the worst game ever made... if only E.T. didn't exist.
