Poll: Which of the big 3 will be the best E3 conference? (93 votes)

Sony 37%
Nintendo 19%
Microsoft 25%
None 9%
Other 4%
Not sure 6%

Sony: Has won E3 all these years, their openings of orchestral music is legend. They have a lot to show in terms of games. Will be epic.

Microsoft: Since they are weak, they might actually have a good showing by throwing the bomb of the Xbox Next. Still they will lack in games, boring.

Nintendo: they are coming back to E3 and will show off a lot of amazing games. They will announce new Metroid, Kart and Smash. Plus, some new i.p, in addition their next gen handheld system.

My pick: Nintendo. I think both Sony and them will have a great conference. However, Nintendo has more meat to show.

Xbox Next is fantasy at this point and it'd backfire REALLY bad, since the one X released last year, consumers would feel like they've been ripped off.

I can't recall the last time an E3 conference made difference in my gaming experience.

I’m going to go with Microsoft as it’s the one that I’m looking forward to the most.

I dunno, they usually don't do anything for me. Pretty cringe-inducing presentations.

You know what. I am expecting a very solid show from Nintendo and I feel that is a safe bet, however, I also have this Spidey Sense tingling like Microsoft is about good and ready to go Angry Gohan on E3 this year... maybe.

Sony might actually have a not so exciting show this year. Only because this is the year they're releasing most of what they've been hyping in the past. We could be seeing an off year where they talk about indies, psvr, and release dates as opposed to brand new IP's and services.

Yes, it is an artificial mental game in the Console Wars. but to deny its existence isn't some sign of higher intelligence. There are winners and losers at E3. It's only been a thing since the 90s bruh.

Valve has never shown up because they have stated they do not consider E3 to be of value for the approach to the gaming industry that they prefer and I could not agree with them more.

They have had stuff to show in the past, and didnt show up at E3

Maybe they should of announced the Steam machine at E3 it might not have been such a failure.

lol yeah because MS losing E3 2013 meant nothing at all...

Fast forward to 2018

PS4 80 Million sold >>>>> Xbone 29.5 Million sold

94 MC GOW just released for PS4 > Flop of Thieves released for Xbone

So from Pedros perspective I guess it would mean nothing if MS didn't attend at all? I mean wining or losing doesn't matter so hey why even put on a show right?

It's only for fools and such..

@needhealing: How do you "lose" an E3? Are there cow points being handed out? Was there a panel, or maybe a vote?

Or was it - you know - a matter of opinion?

The safe/smart money is on Sony. They're the most consistent. That stated, Nintendo would be foolish not to seize this moment. Then again it's Nintendo, so that's kind of their M.O.

'Valve announced Half-Life 2 at E3 in May 2003, where it won several awards for best in show. Originally slated for release in September 2003, the game was delayed in the wake of the cracking of Valve's internal network.[15] The network was accessed through a null session connection to a server owned by Tangis, which was hosted in Valve's network, and a subsequent upload of an ASP shell, resulting in the leak of the game's source code and many other files including maps, models and a playable early version of Half-Life 2 in early September 2003.[16] On October 2, 2003, Valve CEO Gabe Newell publicly explained in the Halflife2.net (now ValveTime.net) forums[17] the events that Valve experienced around the time of the leak, and requested users to track down the perpetrators if possible.'

L4D2 'The game made its world premiere at E3 2009 with a trailer during the Microsoft press event.[4] Prior to release, it received a combination of positive and negative critical and community reactions. It attracted an unusually high volume of pre-release controversy about the game's graphic content. In response, alterations were made to the cover art[5] and both Australia and Germany refused to rate the unmodified edition at the time of release.[6] After release however, the game was met with positive reviews by critics.'

What with people thinking about a new Xbox already? The X is fine. They just need good exclusives to sell it. A new console would be pointless.

In response, alterations were made to the cover art[5] and both Australia and Germany refused to rate the unmodified edition at the time of release.[6] After release however, the game was met with positive reviews by critics.'

where is the link to the article?

and why did you say you 'think' when it appears you knew?

just google HL2 or L4D2 at e3 wiki.

I found it so quickly I didn't edit my post. even so Valve are not above E3

how about the following?

DOTA

DOTA 2

Steam

HTC Vive

Steam Machines

did they reveal those at E3?

Steam started it's life as DRM for HL2. You couldn't play it without it.

Okay... But returning to the original point. Valve have been at E3 on multiple occasions. And why not, they wanted to sell games back then and E3 is where you sell games. They don't care about that now though so that is why they don't go anymore.

'Valve has never shown up because they have stated they do not consider E3 to be of value for the approach to the gaming industry that they prefer and I could not agree with them more.'

so did I hear wrong or are they lying?

and why would they say something like that if they did?

Sony has won E3 for 20 years straight. Always has the best conferences.

Microsoft is always in second place because they show off 3rd party games and pretend they are first party.

Nintendo has lost every E3 ever because only their fan base likes those garbage games. All Nintendo has to do is show a logo of zelda/Mario/Metroid and fanboys will claim they won while the rest of us laugh at them.

E3 has been irrelvant for years.

Its all about who has the biggest fanboys.

Everyone took a dump on the Xbox One reveal for DRM (something normal on PC) .... yet Sony got praises when announcing Playstation Plus Required for online play .... despite swearing they wouldn't.

Everyone knows about all the games beforehand.

Pointless event.

@undefined: Why do people think Sony only has 4 games Death Stranding, The Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Spiderman. Sony literally teased Left Alive, Devil may Cry (delayed from PSX), and Shadows Die Twice last year. Plus they already have Days Gone, FF7R, an Shenmue.

Sony.. gameplay for Death Stranding and TLoU Part II is more interesting than anything Microsoft could possibly show.

Not super interested in Nintendo this E3 since they are just focusing on 2018 games
