Given every aspect, from exclusives, to no exclusives, to power, to established game performance, to less power, to controller preference, etc. etc., which console do you think is better, PS5, or Xbox Series X?
Gamepass ultimate/play anywhere with my PC. The infrastructure and backwards compatibility matters for me. I have alot of OG xbox and 360 games and its nice i can still just put discs in to play them. IMO this is more valuable than Sonys PS5 exclusives...
Sony really doing itself a disservice ignoring its PS2 catalogue and letting it rot. Crazy to me they are letting the PS2 catalouge rot away. So much potential lost... I really wish Sony would have done BC but oh well.
Feels weird wanting to buy new hardware for old games but for real... they just dont make em how they used too.
First game i played on my series x was SSX3...(4k 60fps) Made me smile ear to ear... GLORIOUS
I think they're both bad but if I had to pick one it would be PS5, simply for it's few exclusives plus it's new found backwards compatibility.
Xbox Series S seems like a waste of cash to me. It should be priced at $200 or lower seeing you practically have to buy from Microsoft's digital store if you are to go this route.
Series X seems like the better value but c'mon man, what did Xbox game studios put out in 2022 that would make this a compelling purchase? Only thing that comes to mind is Halo Infinite from 2021 and it's delicious 4 player split screen mode.
By contrary, PS5 at least came out with Horizon Forbidden West this year, which I am interested in and will buy for PC assuming it comes to it. It also came out with GT7, which I would buy assuming I had a PS5.
Both systems I think don't make sense at the moment, I mean why buy these when they will continue to release games for the old systems anyway? It's not like a bad thing but the incentive to upgrade just isn't there like it was for previous gens. Or not yet, at least.
Plus ps5 is a trash console. Honestly i haven't felt a pull to grab a ps5, like I did the ps4. The ps4 had uncharted 4, and I ended up buckling. Ps5 has what exactly?? Horizon forgotten worst, and gow? Oh yeah, I almost forgot crotchety and crank. Spiderman is awesome but I beat it and it's on pc.
What a giant yawn fest. I'm just getting sleepy thinking about it. For all that, plus a weaker 9tflop (oc to 10.28) and butt ugly console, not only is it ugly, its overly big, probably sony compensating for 9tflop. 12 tflop > 9 tflop. I don't know how anyone feels ok with such an ugly console. I'll wait at least until the ps5 slim drops, and a price drop.

Isn't that a good thing? Why own multiple systems to play games especially when they are both capable?
Because MS is embarrassed that most folks wouldn't have Xbox games in their top played list, so they don't have one. I would not be surprised if next year they magically re-implement the feature.

Which is odd because Phil Spencer used the trueachievements website to show his, and his most played was a third party indie game.
Honestly, I kinda feel they'd be interchangeable at the moment, though I don't own an XSX so it's just a take. My PS5 has been getting minimal play recently, as I only use it for exclusives... I did play Callisto Protocol on the system, but that's cos the PC version was broken on release.
@Pedro: No it's not a good thing. First party exclusives are an important part of a console's ecosystem.

I just bought a series X less than a month ago. My main reasons were :
Xbox series X is much cheaper than PS5 (at least in my country where PS5 supplies are so scarce that even in stores it is sold for around 800 EURO, which is just ridiculous)
The xbox design is much prettier. I can't stand the oversized PS5 sandwich design and the strange mess of white, blue and black color.
I sometimes use my xbox as a media player, and it works SO much better on xbox than on my PS4. On PS4 I need to put my video files in a folder named "PS4" or the console won't find the files. What kind of garbage is that??

Much better and more consumer friendly backward-compatibility. I have always found that Sony is way too anti-consumer here.
@girlusocrazy: oh I know it is, so why did you mention the x being held back by the s then? Just remember that the GoW and H:FW were held back by the ps4.

The Xbox achievement site only track games that were first started in 2022.. so if he started one in a previous year (or played an older online game) it would not track here
I personally like the PS5's UI better. Its cleaner and its sounds are soothing.
As for games, Game Pass is too good of a deal to overlook, especially when most of Sony's heavy hitters for the PS5 are 10-15 hour single player games with no replayability and each game costs a whopping $70.
