A good genre mix throughout the years and I wouldn’t want to waste that person’s time with movie games where gameplay suffers or RPGs which I find boring. I’d recommend the Xbox One X platform as well for the industry’s best controller, most powerful console, and the best online infrastructure.
edit: Ugh, forgot Super Mario World. Oh well, said person is dying soon anyway.
Planescape Torment is deep, profound, meaningful and other pretentious shit. It's a good game to play before your liver stops working right.
Dark Souls Trilogy
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
Deadly Premonition Director's Cut
Monster Hunter World
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
5 of the greatest single player games I have ever played.

I STILL haven't played it. I have it installed on my PC for maybe 5 years now >_<
Shadow of the Colossus
The Last of Us
Persona 4
Those 3 are like the ones I recommend to everyone, others depend of the person but most probably will be:
Valkyria Chronicles
Hatsune Miku Project Diva (This thing becomes the guilty pleasure of most people that try it)
