Heard about Vampire Survivors from a coworker early last year. Picked it up as soon as I clocked out, 5pm. Next thing I knew, it was something like 2am.

Digital crack, never played it again.

Vampire Survivors is really addictive (quite enjoyable too). I nearly missed work once because of it.

VS is a game you play on the side. ER is a game you sit down, get immersed and play like its meant to be played. VS should be compared to the likes of Angry Birds, not ER.

Comparing some 2d game to this is🤷‍♂️

Lets not get it mistaken, Elden Ring in on another stratosphere when compared to anything mobile gaming.

It doesn't win for fun gameplay and it has zero immersion. And you're saying that ER is an open world Dark Souls like its a bad thing🙄IT IS an open world dark souls, and there's nothing wrong with that. Now give me Bloodborne 2, also open world, but in a massive city instead of what's in ER.

sadly this is the truth, ive put over 30h in to the game in bytes and chunks. I tried to unlock everything, but i feel its too addictive so Im planning to stop. Either way, Vampire Survivors > Belden Rings.

One thing for sure, tho, you can tell from the tgs trailer that people in charge understand how to market their game.

@sargentd: its a good game, but honestly it feels like crack. Its great for mobile imo, and im surprised they even released it on console first. Personally, now I only play the game to get the unlocks. I want to beat death and unlock him, upgrade tarona to lvl 9, level up my characters and a few other things. I don't want to actually play the game and grind each character to get the unlocks, since each session is like 30 mins, its a serious waste.

@hardwenzen: funny you mention that, Ive been playing a bunch of halo infinite in campaign mode again. Really a terrific game, and far more depth and meaning than vampire survivors, or even belden rings.

PS look at the steam charts, looks like Halo is doing great. Heck yeah! Xbox is where the actions really at though, theres probably 10 times that number, maybe 100 times.

Logging in into your 343i account doesn't count as playing Halo Infinite. You know that, right?

considering it's $3... Vampire Survivors might be my game of 2022.. even tho I slept on it throughout the year. Bravo to this developer. Made something unique that's fun and keeps me coming back for more at an insane low cost of entry.

I've got it on steam now and been playing it on SX. And now I've downloaded it on my phone. But I prefer playing it with an Xbox controller. Feels best imo over the keys or a phone screen.

It is addicting. In the old school way. Like how Tetris or galaga or pac man was addicting.

Vampire Survivors brings me back to why I love gaming.

Elden Ring reminded me how delusional Fromsoft fannies are. And that game journos are all a joke.

Two different games and the only thread connecting them is their generic fantasy tropes. Elden Ring was great but it is no secret the Souls-like genre is an acquired taste.

@sargentd: Nothing wrong with liking the game, it's definitely fun and I logged over 30h in it, which is sad but also a reflection of how much fun it is. You should check out the dlc once you beat the base game. I plan to get it eventually.

I love how the Belden ring fans turn butt hurt when people trash their game. It's just amazing how hype can drive a game to such high ratings...it's all just group think.

Elden Ring was more fun. Both are more fun than Halo Infinite.

Vampire Survivors. More fun than any PS game released this past year as well.
