Where is the hype for Gears 5 here?

For a much anticipated Xbox game the hype is damn low for this game on this board. Is interest for the game really that low among the users? Not even a hype thread or a system war crap post. God of War from last year still have more traction in threads compared to this game, heck even Niche Fire Emblem got some good exposure.

I was trying to hype Links Awakening which is a month out so no real excuse for them not to hype gears

I did made a hype thread for Gears of War 4 almost 3 years ago. But in another way, I did get that game for free with the purchase of my GTX 1070 at the time and after playing Gears 4, it was disappointing! I expected so much more coming from Gears 4 and now for Gears 5, I see little hype, just looks more the same and nothing innovating this time around but God of War 4 at least went to a new direction but you get what I mean. I'll still play Gears 5 with Game Pass but I'm not expecting radical new stuff though.

Also, Gears 5 doesn't release till September 5, way too early for any hype when August is still early and no closer to September 2019 anyways. And no, I'm not making Gears 5 hype thread unless you can give me a reason why sure, I'll do a Gears 5 hype thread since I'll still play the game after all.

Played the tech test and the game plays, looks, and sounds great. I will be picking up the Ultimate Edition day one.

Three Gears and Judgement were enough for me. 4 was lame, and nothing about 5 makes me want to come back to this franchise.

Do lems play games? I thought they only wanted Microsoft to keep burning cash to defeat Sony.

Edit: I recommend releasing Gears 5 hype thread September 1st before the reviews goes live and I'm still up for Gears 5 hype thread but you need to convince me why though.

I'm hyped for the campaign. I didn't really expect to see a hype thread just because of the "XbOx ExCluSivEs bAd".

I just watched the unboxing of the One X Gears 5 edition, and my hype is getting real. I did the tech test and enjoyed it.

Actually been watching gears 5 beta for a while and thought its really cool, but surprised by lack of hype from anyone everywhere in forums I frequented.

Do one please @davillain-, I am not really good at hyping stuff for thread. Highly interested in following the news of this game. Even on gears subreddit there is not much talk other than showing ink. not many posting new beta footage or if any talk, its about rage on the new division like modes.

All jest aside, I'm schedule for Control hype thread cause I'm more hype for that game as it is and can't believe that game is closer to Gears 5 release. I'm on a tight schedule but hey, I'll think about it on Gears 5 hype thread.

Got Control, Astro Chain and Gears 5 all coming, I'm hyped for all 3 equally.

The game is a bit over a month. The hype should be within scope a week from launch.

Gears of war is terrible series and its the one that completely ruined TPS genre. i wish someone make TPS like Max payne and not another gears clone.

I understand why there's no hype around it ms themselves haven't exactly shown anything to be hyped about outside the tech test. The campaign is still unknown and is a worry.

Played gears 4 recently with game pass on pc and while it wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t exactly anything that got me hyped for a sequel...

I think it's part of their gamepass? So I guess I will be able to play it...

It's coming to Game Pass and from this point on, any MS games will be on Game Pass meaning you'll be able to play just about any MS games on PC :)

I'm personally looking forward to it. Is it my favorite series of all time? Not by a long shot. But I enjoy it and look forward to playing. Fanboys and hype threads are really fucking stupid.

campaign wise the first three were great but gears 4 was just bad. the trailer for 5 suggests more of the same.

the story arc was closed at the end of 3 so the series should've really been retired at that point. but regardless if gears 4 was in the hands of epic i think it would've turned out very differently (i.e. better). see bungie / halo 4 and crytek / far cry 2 for similar examples of franchises changing hands and going down hill

Nice. I grabbed Game Pass for PC for the first month for a buck, which allowed me to play Metro Exodus. With Gears 5 coming up, i'll definitely keep paying.

The lems are playing it safe after Crackdown 3. They're waiting eagerly in the darkness for a light to finally shine upon them. The game drought has made them into scavengers, enjoying what little scraps they can find. Within them they hold a small, faint hope; an ember that yearns to blaze once more. If Gears 5 flops, I think we should all pitch in to help ensure lems can roam free in a conservation facility. It would be a shame to see them go extinct.

Some of the marketing, particularly at the E3 confrence where it got all arty-farty with "le emotion" was just poor.

She is supposed to become the new locust Queen after her mother. That was what the whole Kait trailer was about.
