When will we get a proper remake of Silent Hill 1

The hit classic Silent Hill for the original PlayStation has never gotten a proper remake, just some shitty rush job that was called Silent Hill shattered memories and not even that stayed true to the original version.

Honestly it quite surprising, all i want is the same game with a new over the shoulder camera running on a new graphics engine and some new addition if need be to improve apon the original, etc....thoughts?

That would be pretty awesome! I love the SH series and I never got to play the original. They'd definitely need to upgrade the graphics, sound, and controls though.

Make SH 1 and 2. I loved both of those games. The red room with the clock in sh 2 still stands out in my mind when I think of the horror genre. Room was creepy with the music. Great atmosphere in both games.

This is definitely one of the games that I think is in the most need of a remake. I'm hoping that the remake of Resident Evil 2 does really well which will then motivate Konami to remake Silent Hill.

By the way, whatever happened to the Resident Evil 2 remake? I haven't heard anything about it in a really long time.

The original Silent Hill is my favorite game of all time. I love it so much that I don't want a remake. I like to remember the game as it was, and as it is. It's for this very reason that I never touched Shattered Memories. I even found it offensive in a way, as ridiculous as that might sound.

Finally some love for a horror game. Im glad i see some love to these genres. Huge fan here since youngster , i would love to replay SH in a remake form. Had a blast back then i bet with new graphics , controls , camera angles etc would be top notch experience.

Probably because Shattered Memories wasn't a remake,but an after story of the first game. The hint is in the name.

It's also the best western-made Silent Hill game to date precisely because it respects the source material and understands what makes it tick.

@R10nu: most of these guys must have never played shattered memories. I thought it was one of the best of the series. Story was amazing and it added the new element of survival ....... NO WEAPONS! It was more like what would really be happening to someone in that situation. Very few would have the heart to go all Rambo on some demons/aliens whatever you wanna call them. Most would just run.......

I would rather see publishers just emulate original, otherwise just a shit crowd funded thing will happen and that will lead to people getting pissed.

I didn't fall in love with SH until 2. The original PS wasn't capable of a near reasonable draw distance for 3D, the fog was too thick for me lol. Couldn't see 10 feet in any direction. 2 was amazing though. If they could go back and actually make fog for atmosphere instead of hiding pop up I would definitely buy!
