2nd gen by FAR. We had the Genesis and the SNES. Both of these systems rocked harder than any current system that's still getting new releases. You can say all you want, but gaming was better back then than it is now.

From the beginning of the SNES era to the ending of the N64 era.

But a second coming is here. This gen looks to be awesome for gaming.

1990-1995. SNES, Genesis, Warcraft 2, Wing Commander, Sam and Max, Doom, C&C ect. elegant games from more civilized times. Before the dark times, before the Empire (Sony)

Agreed. 64 bit era was just the best imo. So many memorable games on the n64. I think one thing the majority of us will agree on, no matter how technically good games get, they will never be as good as the games before 2000.

Not really. Gaming of the past used to be purely about having fun. Also there were a lot of innovative, new, and memorable games during those times. Nowadays gaming is all about being No.1 and "pwning n00bs", and achievements, and slagging off people with different tastes etc.... The gaming world has been tainted :(

SNES/N64 for me, though 1998 is commonly referred to as gaming's best year.

Now if you want the Golden Era of PC gaming, for me it's 1992-1999...All of those SCUMM games, the cool interactive movies, the evolution of the first person shooter, RTS games, and the original Live! service...The Imagination Network!

If it weren't for the high prices I'd say this gen had the potential to match the SNES/GEN era, all 3 systems seem pretty equal and diverse and the two handheld systems are pumping out the best handheld games to date.
