When did the Xbone vs PS4 battle start? I cannot remember! Can you?

As you can see, the Scarlett vs PS5 battle is raging all over SW as we speak.

And those consoles are still years away from launching.

This prompted me to ask:

When did the Xbone vs PS4 battle start? -On System Wars, I mean, and on other internet forums???

Did the fighting begin years before the consoles came out? Can you remember?

And can you remember which side you were on during that fight, before the consoles launched? And did you change sides during that fight?

Also, which of the consoles launched first anyways? I cannot remember that either...

I can't believe you're still talking as if the X actually did something significant after it launched and even the Switch starting from 0 in 2017 has nearly overtaken xbox one's entire lifetime sales in the same timeframe the X was released.

Early 2013 was a funny funny time. The rest of this particular 'console war' has been dull.

I can actually remember not being a gamer but being stoked Sony getting into the game with PlayStation. (Still in my musician days, you think gaming is expensive? Sheesh) Was not blown away like i hoped but had fun playing at friends places. Also thought the same thing about hearing Microsoft was getting in. I always thought and knew competition would make it better. Had roommate with the OG Xbox thought it was pretty cool played Halo 2 and Call of Duty, Gun etc. Thought it was fun but not enough to make me want to buy one. Then I saw some one playing Force unleashed on 360 and said holy sh*t that's what games look like now? So i bought one.

I did not even know this was a thing until I went from reading game walkthroughs to game news and got to the comment section. Never really got into it this crazy stuff to until this gen, and now getting to the back to I don't really care anymore mode. I like my system and like playing games.

Who shot first and whatever else, really does not effect me.

Scarlett vs PS5 right now isn't much of a battle considering we know very little about them.
