Whats your personal choice for GOTY

Spec Ops: The Line. It's far from the best game to come out this year, but it's the only one I can think of that so sucessfully used video game tropes and common elements to its advantage and used the medium to tell a story in a way that only games could.

Mass Effect 3

Probably Mists of Pandaria.

Everything else has been mad disappointing, but I'm playing Spec Ops: The Line right now, and that's very good. So we'll see once I finish it.

I havent played many 2012 games now that I think about it... but from the few ones I played probably Darksiders 2

I still have to play plenty though, when they come down in price. My country takes a LONG time to gets games prices down :(

Honorable mentions are The Walking Dead,Hotline Miami,Mass Effect 3,FTL,GW2,Max Payne 3 and Sleeping Dogs.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown so far. Max Payne 3 is a runner up; I'm not very far in AC III but that could be too. I don't have Far Cry 3 yet but I expect great things. Great juicy things.Floppy_Jim

Halo 4 so far. It may change to Far Cry 3 but i'm still waiting for it.

Far Cry 3, easily.

So far, Journey, but I'm getting Far Cry 3 and/or AC3 soon so that might change.

i would have to say mass effect or journey. i can't decide right now

Farcry 3, Civ V G&K, The Walking Dead and Tribes Ascend wouldnt be far behind though.

Super Mario Bros. U

Being the Gamepad God reigning over four normal players, or being a normal player and conspiring with a newly selected Gamepad God to repeatedly and cruelly murder a player who previously had been a particuarly cruel Gamepad God, there's just so much about the game playing it with others that's painful and beautiful and amazing.

Assassin's Creed 3, followed closely by Halo 4 and Darksiders 2. AC3 had amazing voice acting, gameplay, story and design. The level design in those games are always amazing.

I haven't played Boderlands 2, Far Cry 3 and Black Ops 2 yet though (just multi in BO2).

Mine is Diablo III granted I only played that and Dragon's Dogma and a little Forza Horizon.

Legend of Grimrock - one of the best RPGs i have ever played. No question about it.

Some of my favorite games of the year were Halo 4, Borderlands 2, Mass Effect 3, Torchlight 2 but Far Cry 3 managed to surprise me completely and take the crown. It is truly one of the best games I have played in years and its dissapointing that so many editorials snubbed nominating it for game of the year
