For games this year? Either "Legend of Grimrock", or "Guild Wars 2". I would go for Mass Effect 3, too, but the ending spoiled most of the game for me.

For someone to dislike something so much, you sure spend alot of time worrying about it and the people who play these types of games. :o
We recently found out he's 12, so go easy on him. There's hope for him yet to grow up... ;)

eh? 12? seriously?Yep, in the previous Lounge someone found his Steam account and everything. Would link you, but the Lounge is huge, too many pages to go on a search... :(
The Walking Dead is the only game that makes 2012 matter at all. I'm suprised it got so little votes, have people even played the game?RoccoHoutyes, it was a fantastic game, but TSWCE is a better visual novel/point and click edit: I take it you haven't played the sea will claim everything?

I could have told anyone this a while ago when he stated posting more prolifically. His grammar and thought processes indicated severe immaturity. 2. The required age for someone to have access to a Gamespot account is 13. So bye bye Sniper. *waves goodbye*
So far, Mass Effect 3.
F**k the haters, aside from the terrible ending (which was a bit better after the extended cut DLC), I loved that damn game.
Haven't played Far Cry 3 yet, and that's the only game left that could dethrone ME3 at this point.
ME was a brill series, don't get the level of hate it receives in here.So far, Mass Effect 3.

Popular things are fun to hate, I guess.

And I would agree if that were the case.
Popular things are fun to hate, I guess.The_Game21xI loved the first game. I came close to loving the second game (the majority of the build up was uneventful and too drawn out, also, chest-high-walls gameplay, but was fun enough). I absolutely adored the third game (especially the gameplay) until the ending. I tried SO VERY HARD to accept it when I saw it (first time was with EC DLC btw) and try not to think about how it utterly destroyed any reason for me to have made any choice throughout the series and essentially killed all shred of interest I ever had in the series and franchise. Had I not continued into the final assault on Cerberus (where I stopped playing 3 to go back and replay 2) I probably would be naming it my GOTY. I don't know why the ending upset me so much, but it did, and I find it so saddening to have happened. I loved what potential the first game opened up back in 2007 (played it summer 2008). I guess I was just expecting too much. Shame on me.

It's just fun to hate
For some, yes. but not all. I like the games and love the first one, but it's also not as great as everyone makes it out to be either. It has glaring faults that some people seem to not notice
Far Cry 3, maybe. Depends on how well it ends, and I'm hearing good things.
So far the contenders for me are Far Cry 3, Max Payne 3, Borderlands 2, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Mass Effect 3, Journey and Spec Ops: The Line.
Black Ops II, Halo 4, Assassin's Creed III, The Walking Dead, Hotline Miami and Prototype 2 are all also damn good games, but not GOTY stuff for me (though definitely top ten I'm thinking). Plus I still need to play Dishonored and finish half of those to really make a pick.

No shiit... if me deserves hate for "bad writing" lets see some venom shot at the 99% of games that released this gen with worse writing than ME. Its not bad writing, its hating whats popular... its not a perfect game, but ive never played one that is.... for every line that you may chuckle at, there are 10 that make me love these games to my core.... if anyone wants to discuss the issues in narrative with the meriad of games that are not up to mass effect standards lets go, but if someones goal is to singlw out a franchise that hits way more than it misses, narrative wise, im not gonna entertain it.Final Fantasy 13-2 pretty easily, i just loved the game. I would play it for 5-8 hours at a time because i couldnt put it down, whenever i had to stop playing all i could think about was getting back onto it.
That being said, i think Sleeping Dogs deserves to win GOTY.
Either Max Payne 3 or Far Cry 3, need to finish the latter before I decide.
Mass Effect 3 and Dishonored were also great.
[QUOTE="PhazonBlazer"]Atm its my runner up. It was a really great game despite the truck loads of engine bugs.Assassins Creed 3, easily

Yeah, that's really the only problem I have with the game (besides the ending)
[QUOTE="PhazonBlazer"]Atm its my runner up. It was a really great game despite the truck loads of engine bugs. After a bit of a slow start, I'm having more fun with this game than I've had in a long time. I didn't expect the naval battles to be so much fun. ATM I just want to raise funds to pimp out my ship and the story is quite good.Assassins Creed 3, easily

If no one over exaggerated the story or cliamed it was teh ebst written game (I've seen that) then it wouldn't matter. Most games have sh!tty stories, I agree with that. But it's because ME is considered great by some that it generates that type of talk. Same with the choice system, peopel keep insisting that it's great when in fact it's not.
In comparison to most games ME is actually pretty good because it keeps a consistent narrative over 3 games. But being good by default cos everything else is bad/worse does not mean it's good. it just means it's better than others. Though I guess a lot of hate some people throw at it is definitely hating what's popular. or ahting what they don't like themselves *cough*sniper*cough*, but I don't hate cos it's popular, I hate because people exaggerate some claims about the game.
