What's your favorite Xbox first party game not including Halo,Gears, or Forza?

Damn, this is a hard one. Forza is usually my go to choice for Xbox first party. I think I'll have to go with Killer Instinct. I'm surprised they haven't done much with the game since its launch with the Xbox One back in 2013. Hopefully they'll announce a new one during the Xbox Show. So yea, that's my choice. How about you, SW? What's your favorite Xbox first party game not including Halo,Gears, or Forza?

Is lost odyssey a first party game? That one if it is.

Alan wake. also better than Gears/Forza/Halo.

Spending a lot of time on Sea of Thieves right now. Otherwise, I adore Ori....and Cuphead is good for a challenge, but my favourite is Senua. Looking forward to the sequel.

yeah i almost bought a xbox one for sea of thieves. If they announce fable i will get a series s or x not sure yet then i will get sea of thieves. gears is good so i will get that as well. last xbox i had was a 360.

ori looks really good. im into 2d but i can't do the 8 bit ones they keep coming out with lately.

last 2d game i play was bloodstain the real game not the 8 bit ones.

What? It's a Microsoft-owned IP and the remasters are published by Xbox Game Studios. They are therefore technically Xbox (Game Studios) games.

Crimson Skies. I wish anyone would make more games like this.

I can't think of anything because they don't have anything but worthless filler, and they're too dumb to exploit (in a good way) games such as Perfect Dark, and a bunch of other RARE franchises. Like what do they even have?

Probably the Ori games.

If we expand to MS exclusives then Sunset Overdrive.

Alan Wake or Quantum break.

Both tell very cool stories.

Simpler games with great gameplay, not every game has to be a big AAA release with a huge budget

Ori, both of them, simply amazing.

State of Decay 2, what they do with a real budget should be amazing.

Crackdown 3, first one of the series I played.

This is my first generation owning (and playing) an Xbox.

I don't mess with Halo or Gears.

Ori and Age of Empires are the only thing that comes to mind.

Age of Mythology, for sure.

Sea Of Thieves. Funnest four player co-op game since the 1st Borderlands.

I can think of a fair amount of other games that I’ve really enjoyed from Microsoft outside of Halo/Gears/Forza. Some of those are:

- Lost Odyssey

- Kameo

- Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

- Viva Piñata

- Quantum Break

- Alan Wake

- Blue Dragon

- Ori

- Crimson Skies

- Killer Instinct

Kind of hard to pick a favourite from those. It’d be a toss up between Lost Odyssey, Killer Instinct, and Alan Wake.

@Archangel3371: I forgot Lost Odyssey but that wouldn't be considered a first party game. Coming to think of it, neither is Ori and a several others you have listed. They are Xbox IP nonetheless.

Sea of Thieves..

Easily my most consistently played game this entire generation.. I'm glad to see it's still topping the charts on Steam, it's a really great testament to how strong the multiplayer and community is in this title..

Looking forward to seeing what kind of Xbox Series X enhancements they have in mind and how they are going to expand the IP for the upcoming generation..

this is likely the reason that PS4 has outstripped it in sales so dramatically

they should have stuck to their roots instead of trying to create a PC fluff piece that was designed to be more Mommy approved and chrck more boxes on the PC hit list

Forza Horizon. It's pretty great stuff. I used to like Halo a lot back in the 1-2 days, but haven't played it since

@Fuhrer_D: really? I found State of Decay 2 really underwhelming. Despite the jank, 7 Days To Die (on PC at least) offers a much deeper zombie survival and crafting experience IMO. My friends and I go from mud huts and sticks to concrete and rebar bunkers with heavy guns and farm land around - all crafted "from scratch" by us, as opposed to the more limited and pre-built scope of how SoD2 lets you interact with the world

I'm still intrigued by Sea of Thieves - I always thought it looked fun. I don't have any friends interested in playing it, though, and I doubt it is anywhere near as fun with randos

For me its Rare Replay and that's my favorite 1st-party game. (I really wish Rare Replay would come to PC)

For me its a close one but Halo just over Gears I'll never forget the first time playing Halo on the og xbox.

Can't think of any except Dead Rising 3 though that one was made by Capcom but published by Microsoft. I use my Xbox One X for third party games. As I have always said, Microsoft makes the best hardware, but Sony makes the best exclusives.

Sunset overdrive was great just didn't get the love it deserved.

Technically not an Xbox One exclusive (also on 360 and PC - but mostly dead), my pick is Titanfall 1. It’s easily my most played X1 game to date and I still play it often.

For me, it's definitely Halo. I've followed it since the very beginning and bought every game in the series. Even the shitty Halo Wars 1 and 2. I honestly don't think there's anything I don't know about Halo.

I hope so. After Halo 5, I don't have much hope left for it but I would love to be proven wrong. Because if it tanks then the future will be looking pretty grim for ol' Master Chief.

I was so looking forward to that game and it could have been a great entry to the JRPG/action game since Lost Odyssey.
