My friends. For me, it was seeing EA/Crytek unveil Crysis 2. When this launch event was held, they all wore "I love (heart) New York" T-shirts. I thought this was rather curious, why would they do this? And then, we saw the trailer. 911 images. Walls plastered with loves ones missing. Crumbling buildings with barricades. Buildings collapsing with rubble.
Now, for the less intelligent among you, I am not inherently against using anti-iconic moments like 911. They are for good or bad, meaningful, powerful images. What irks me, is that they attempted to hide what they where doing under the guis of a celebration of new york, rather than the fact they are (more or less) profiteering from a horrid event. EA was in a word, covering there ass. To my eyes, this is 100% worse than anything you will see in your postal 2's or Grand Theft Auto's. It is one of the most cynically dubious PR driven acts in video game history.
How feels you my friends? What is the most cynically dubious act a video game publisher has committed?
