Just got a PS4 not too long ago. I am just wondering what is the best racing game I could get at the moment? I am currently torn between at NFS 2015 and Driveclub. I've been playing NFS series for about 15 years now. (Been playing since Porsche Unleashed). What really made me into cars; especially Porsche and Bimmers was these old NFS games that blackbox made. NFS used to be about racing exotic/domestic cars in european countryside/urban environments. Not ricing out 4 cylinder JDM's and whatnot. Apparently, from what I heard, Driveclub is not good. But I beg to differ, it really looks like a pre-NFS Underground game in 2015 if you catch my drift. I played the crew at my boy's crib, but what I do not like about the Crew or the NFS is that it seems like it's so hard to find a race with actual people! Instead, it seems like you are aimlessly driving around or customizing your car. Which makes me believe racing games are better off linear with different locations and numerous amounts of tracks. Remember going to the arcade in the late 90's and early 2000's and playin the arcade racer "Cruzin' The World"? (But in todays times I can see why EA and other companies go open world because you have to account for people who do not want to race; I know ironic for a racing game right? Not racing? lmao.
I got my ps3 in 2013 (took a brake from gaming for a while from xbox and switched to ps3) and my first racing game for that was NFS The Run; which honestly is the last true NFS game to be quite frank with everyone. (People do not realize the game was actually a hybrid like Driveclub since it had physic's from Shift 2) It had it's faults but the racing was great and competitive; especially online. The graphics and track selection as superb as well. And the movie was based on the Run as well; just the opposite way lmao. I just don't want to get this NFS and it will be a Rival's part 2. Hence why they took a 2 year break because NFS Rivals was such a bad racing game.
So my question is is what's the best racing game I could get at the moment? And do you think DriveClub is essentially a modern NFS game? A real NFS? Not that silly Underground stuff.
Thx in advance.
