Name 1 reason, even if you have absolutely no interest in switching, that would absolutely convince you to switch from xbox or PS as your main gaming machine to a PC.

Well, I'm already on PC, but I'll list some good reasons anyway; maybe I might convince somebody (yeah right). Please keep in mind that while most of these are objective, some of them are my own opinion so don't take it too serious:
1. Largest library of games
2. Greatest diversity of genres and sub-genres
3. Near-infinite backwards compatibility; you can play Tie Fighter, Deus Ex, original Doom, Far Cry 5, and so forth all on the same rig. No need to buy "remasters" which is basically a nice way of saying "you've been suckered into buying the same game twice".
4. Greatest control interface, and the most amount of different control systems; mouse and keyboard is tough to beat at controlling nearly any game, but if that's not good enough, there are steering wheels, brake/rudder pedals, joysticks and flightsticks, gamepads, trackballs, and many many more.
5. Best virtual reality peripherals
6. Games are inexpensive, which is great for enthusiasts; I probably spend ~20 dollars per game on PC.
7. Large independent movement; a lot of great "indie" games available that push the gameplay envelope, for good and bad.
8. Open development; anyone can make a game on PC, there are no hoops to jump through, no licenses to acquire.
9. SONY doesn't have enough exclusives to make me want a PS4
10. Xbox games are just about all on PC these days, so why bother with xbox?
11. Best graphics
12. Generally good community, less toxic and more mature than those found on console. That's not saying much, though :P
13. Hardware development is always on the cutting edge, constantly pushing things to the limit. Advanced processors, bigger and better (or smaller :P ) GPU's, liquid cooling...you'll always find the best hardware on PC's.
14. Cheaper than consoles. Yeah yeah yeah I can hear you laughing, but think about. Think about how much a new console cost. Then, if you're like almost everyone, you probably have a laptop. Maybe a tablet, too. All that cost more than a modest gaming PC.
what made me get a PC instead of an ps4 or xbox is the controls. That's what the main thing was for me.
idk i must of been born without that part of my brain but as much as i practiced i could not get good with dual analog in shooters. I find it impossible to play competetive. This completely bummed me out on the xbox and ps4 as main consoles.
i didnt know i would be able to play decently with a mouse until i got a new PC in 2012. It wasnt a gaming PC it was just a dell from best buy for 900$. however one day out of the blue i was like. let me see if this PC can even handle an actual game. so i tried to play call of duty 4 on it. it ran surprisngly well. But the biggest shock was that i was very good at aiming shots. not pro or whatever but decent.
thats when i thought. Wow i am going to become a PC gamer.
the graphics, FOV slider, and mods are just icing on the cake.
oh...i should mention i dont use keyboard though. i use a fragfx nunchuck for movement. wonderful combo.
bought my gaming PC in 2015
@Fairmonkey: There isn't one thing I would change that would bring me back to pc.....there would need to be many.
I don't need convincing I just need money to get a good one and to be taught how to maintain it so it doesn't burn out or get slow
The home console market collasped and never recovered. That means publishers like Nintendo are forced to release their games on the PC. That is when I will be convinced to PC gaming.
There's absolutely nothing. And there never will be.
what about starcraft and warcraft and heroes might and magic are on the pc you wouldn't play those games on a friends computer?
Why switch? Just own more than one system if money is not the problem (but PC prices are damn affordable in recent years).
I personally enjoy playing console exclusives on console (of course) and everything else on PC because Steam games are way cheaper and the experiences are way nicer due too more powerful hardwares.
I don't like PC gaming and there is no one single thing that could get me to switch from console to PC. It would require many changes and after all of my changes, the PC would pretty much be a console at that point.
One good first step that would have to happen would be to revive the physical game market on PC. I like physical games and the fact that PC gaming is almost all digital is one of the biggest turnoffs to me. I've never really been into PC gaming, but one of the things that I used to admire about PC games in the past were when they came in those big boxes with huge thick manuals. Those were awesome! If they brought back those big box PC games, I would definitely be envious. There are still other things that would have to happen as well, but this would be the first mandatory step to make me even start considering PC gaming.
Cheating in online games would need to be on par with xb1 and PS4. I play quite a bit of rainbow six siege on xbox. If my youtube feed wasn't full of videos about it, I would never have known that R6S has been plagued with cheaters on pc the last couple of months... Almost making it unplayable. Ubisoft has said they are looking into it, but on console I don't have to worry about any of that. MS and Sony do it for me.
Due to pc being such an open platform, the cheating/hacking will always be exponentially worse there. Live and PSN prices are worth their weight in gold due to never having to worry about it.
I don't really care where I game to be honest. I switched to PC about 7 years ago but my PC doesn't really cut it anymore for modern games. I just have that and a Switch at the moment. Plus the SNES mini.
I don't know. Maybe if I could play all games from Nintendo and PS, along with Xbox. I know there's a huge variety on Steam but in all honesty I wouldn't trade Zelda, Mario, GoW, Bloodborne and so on for the PC library. And I love Indies but the Switch is killing it right now, plus the portability. It's really hard to see a reason to go PC right now.
Plus cheaters, I'm not much of an online gamer but playing online on PC is completely out of question for me. But that's not a determinant factor, personally.
So ye, if all the big 3 bring all their games to PC I might consider getting a dedicated gaming PC.
If you care about quality, PC is the only option. Consoles are shit and don't cut it as a primary platform.
Talks quality and posts the above shit lol.
I been PC gaming since 2007, I want the best of the best for gaming and above all, freedom of choice! I'll give you simple 3 reasons why:
Only if MS made some sort of Mighty Box using Windows OS that's for fun and VG focused, plug & play, no tweaking needed to play all games, with no hacking or virus BS and made to easily connect to mah big screen TV and not also used for work, yuck, hate that, then and only then would I be all over that PC Box.
Get on that MS... oh wait. lolol :P
I've been gradually moving away from traditional consoles to portable devices for years now. As a result, my PS4 Pro is probably the last one of those I'll ever buy. As far as buying and playing on a gaming PC, that'll never happen as my transition is due to sizing down, not up.

1. Your GOTY 2017 was a console game and at 30fps, DEBATED.
2. No one owns PC its a fucking free for all, so who would charge anyway? DEBATED.
3. Yeah its not like you can get cheap games for consoles now can you, oh and with BC, so it counts again today? DEBATED.
4. What you say???
@i_p_daily: I say, you are trying way too hard lol. Nice try my console gaming friend :)
Is that you're new shtick now? But thanks as your deflections tells me what I already knew lol.

1. My comment about your GOTY makes your first comment about resolution/frame rate look stupid.
2. I wasn't talking about people who do or don't own a PC, I was referring to the online component.
3. My bad I forgot BC doesn't count only when we're talking about Xbox.
4. You lose again :(
7 figure/year salary to do so.
same question I asked another person
do you not currently own a PC or a laptop?
It cracks me up that people think PC gaming is so cost prohibitive.
It would cost me more to start console gaming and bring it up to par with my PC right now than it would to rebuild my PC.

not that I am looking for the cheapest way to listen to music anymore than the cheapest way to play video games if I was I would only factor in the cost difference between the PC/Laptop I would have regardless of gaming. That usually means the cost of the video card.
that is how I would figure it. unless these folks really dont have any PC/laptop in the house at all.
but usually they are sitting on a laptop at home that they paid $1000 for complaining about how expensive PC gaming is...oh the ironical
