What were your top 5 announcements/reveals/trailers from this past week?

We got to see so many great games and announcements this week, I’m going to have a gaming sugar rush! But what were my top 5? Here goes:

• God of War Ragnarok: the new story trailer got me hyped for this game. It looks that good! Day 1 please!
• Bayonetta 3: while I was always hyped for Bayonetta, the latest video made me think we’re getting the same good stuff! Another Day 1 for me.
• The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: We got a clever double entendre title and a release date, what more can we want?
• Yakuza games: wow, 3 Yakuza games, and legendary badass Kiryu Kazama is in all three. Take my money!
• Fire Emblem Engage: this one looks like they really focused on the good parts of Fire Emblem, so I’m excited!

Honorable mentions:

• Stellar Blade: this is looking really promising, love that we could have a Bayonetta alternative with this one.
• Street Fighter 6: I tend to get bored with fighting games pretty quickly, but this looks awesome.
• Suikoden 1 & 2 remasters: never played the originals, so let’s see what they’re about!
• More N64 games to Switch online including GoldenEye. Love that the Switch version has online multiplayer.

Playstation and XBox are shit right now total shit im getting these on switch lite

I have 3.

Rise of Ronin. Positive first impression from me. Sony 3rd party deals been bangers so far and this looks like another hit.

Yakuza Ishin. Action oriented yakuza game is a yes from me. I got bored by Yakuza 7 slow pacing and half baked jrpg gameplay. I need those high octane pacing please.

Suikoden remaster. One step closer to the actual best game in the series Suikoden V.

- Street Fight 6 blowout

- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom trailer and release date

- Bayonetta 3 stuff

- Tekken 8

Ragnarok is the only trailer that looked sweet. Other than that, 343i coming out of the cocoon was another incredible announcement, but that's a bit older than a week.

Only God of War: Ragnarok stole the spotlight from every announcement this weekend and I'm sold for Ragnarok, I can't wait to play it this November!!! GOTY and you all know it!!!

sonic frontiers, yakuza, the ni no kuni remastered on gamepass, golden eye on gamepass and on switch. A bit cautious of the fire emblem announcement. The hero looks dumb af, and I didn't like 3 houses...sooo i'm going to sit on the sidelines for that.

No real interest for walking simulator/movie games.

Rise of ronin and yazuka ishin were two stand outs for me.

It really does look that good.

This doesn’t look like Three Houses to me. If anything, it looks like it went away from Three Houses and back to previous installments.

@SolidGame_basic: And so those Rise of Ronin but since that's so far off from release, no point in me getting hype for that game until we're close to releasing it.

I can't think of a definitive fifth one. Maybe the new Gow trailer?

• Pikmin 4: I honestly though Nintendo was done with this franchise like F-zero or Star Fox
• Rise of The Ronin: Assassin's Creed Japan
• Like a dragon: Ishin: Looks like a fun beat em up with GTA overworld
• Phantom Fury: let's not forget about Realms deep, shall we?
• Ragnarok: only putting it on this list because Hardwenzen keeps crying about it, what a one-note character 😁

There were also some great updates on games that have already been announced, such as GoW, SF6, Wo Long, Yakuza 8 and Zelda, but I'll focus on the new game announcements here.

More samurai/ninja games set in Japan is good news for me, haha.

It's a shame there was no new info on FFXVI at TGS, but YoshiP just said he plans to show a new trailer around October, so I'll look forward to that (maybe the next PlayStation Showcase will be around that time?)

Good stuff. Yea, I’m excited for FF16! I didn’t play the original Octopath Traveler, but I see it’s still on GamePass. Is it worth playing?

@SolidGame_basic: Well, it's more for those who have nostalgia for the old turn-based, random-encounter JRPGs like the early FF, DQ, Saga series, etc. Of course there are some modern tweaks such as the break and boost system. I like them so enjoyed it a lot. It's worth playing with Game Pass, but you may need some patience as you won't get the whole picture of the story until you get to the last chapter after spending 30+ hours to complete the 8 storylines. I would also like to emphasize that the music is outstanding overall.
