Poll What was ruined the most Dead Space or Dragon Age? (48 votes)

Dragon Age 52%
Dead Space 48%

Both of these franchises started off well. EA being EA, a developer renowned for taking studioes and IP's and running them into the ground have in record time destroyed he Dragon Age franchise (2 press X to win console edition) and Dead Space 3 (give us your fucking money we want to be Uncharted).

Of these two titles, which did EA efficiently ruin the most?

Played on a control pad. The franchise is dead my friend. Might as well call it "diablo".

Dragon Age, of course, since Dead Space was never as amazing as Dragon Age to begin with, and while Dead Space 2 and 3 were progressively worse, they still can't match the crime against humanity that was Dragon Age II.

Hopefully Inquisition brings the series back up.

No idea how Dead Space was ruined to be honest. Both 3 games weren't much different from each other. Just that people got bored of the game.

Dead Space 1-2 features tight corridors, isolation. jump scares and was significantly harder.

Dead Space 3 features dude bro's fighting, on the rail actions, barely interactively scripted sequences, large open spaces full of light, human enemies, universal ammo, unlimited storage space, COOP, microtransactions e.t.c... A very easy game indeed.

common cup, its not like Dead space 1 and 2 were any good...

Disagree my friend. Not scary in the slightest. But interesting combat. I think of Dead Space as a dungeon crawler, as that's exactly what it is.

The Only thing more annoying than CoWs claiming every Sony Exclusive is a GOAT is when somebody just bashes games ! Not cool dude. And Dragon Age is obviously the crappier game.

That says nothing about EA though. They didin't ruin these games.

Blame someone else.

No, Dead Space 3 rules...outside the plot, which was bad in all three games. Not the best in the series, but its far from a bad game.

Dead Space 1 was like Alien

Dead Space 2 was like Alien 3

But Dead Space 3 is like Aliens

And both Alien AND Aliens was looked on highly.

Dead Space suffered more because it has been shelved. Never played Dragon Age before, but Witcher 3 delay probably just gave Inquisition my money this Fall.

If you went from PC DA:O to DA2 it was quite heavily dumbed down. However, I understand the console version of DAO was compromised as well, with wave-based combat and no tactical mode, so I can understand if people who played that version don't think DA2 was that bad.

Unfortunately that leaked footage of Inquisition looked almost exactly like DA2 with better graphics, so I don't have much hope or hype.

Never played a Dead Space game so I'd have to say...Dead Space.

Dragon Age wasn't ruined. Even if the "narrowness" of the 2nd game was lackluster the new gameplay vids of Inquisition quell any heresy that is Dragon Age hatred.

Hard to say. I liked Dead Space 1 & 2, but 3. Hmmmm thats a tough one. I didn't exactly hate it, but it wasn't half as good as the other two. As for Dragon Age I LOVED the first one. 2 on the other hand. Ehhhhhh. I enjoyed the first few hours until I realized that I would never leave the city, except to do a quest on a tiny island that was the same design as the tiny island I was on before, doing a similar quest. I would say Dragon Age simply because of 2, but nothing can be set in stone yet since Inquisition looks very promising. Then again, Dead Space 3 was the game that made EA themselves question if the Dead Space series was dead.

I would say Dead Space. I only saw gameplay for both Dragon Age games but Inquisition seems to giving people the best of both worlds. Dead Space 3 added a stupid pointless cover system, loads of ammo, human enemies that try to turn it in to a game it is not, and other bs.

I like Dead Space more, so Dead Space. I will forever be salty. Only thing they can do to cure my sodium is to bring it back to its roots and kill the tacked on CO-OP and random shoot bangs with human enemies.

Your forgot mass effect. I liked ME2 and 3 still cant hold a candle to ME1

EA fell victim what gen 7 brought the casual effect.

Look what happened to dead space DA and ME.

ME1, that game where your teammates shoot at walls and has some of the worst gameplay to a Bioware game, where characters become such talking codex entries that the sequels had to develop them?

ME3 is easily the best in the series.

No, all they need to do is conclude the story, no reboot needed.

Its only "shelved" because that team is working on something else.

DAO was excellent, because it brought traditional WRPG to the modern world. DA2 was ruined because the mechanics were turned into some casual action game, and the game was rushed with reused and unpolished content. DA2 has very few redeeming features.

Dead Space series on the other hand simply took a direction change. DS1 was a true survival horror that I shall always fondly remember. DS2 turned into shock horror shooter, and DS3 almost turned into a pure TPS. I personally prefer the survivial horror genre more than TPS, so I will always like DS1 more than 2 and 3. However, 2 and 3 are not bad games from a purely quality-based and not genre-based perspective. I'm certain that people who enjoy TPS with some puny horror elements will enjoy 2 and 3 more than 1.

The key difference between the two is that it's possible for at least some people to appreciate the attribute of "TPS with minor horror elements", but it's not possible for any gamer to appreciate the attribute of "reused and unpolished content". One attribute is neutral, while the other is purely negative.

Dead Space for me, since the first had so much potential but then it devolved, misunderstood scare tactics and thought microtransactions were a good idea.

DAO is a clichéd ridden mess that follows Bioware's formula to a tee, with characters made of Bioware expies of their past casts....which the cast is meaningless when it comes to the narrative outside of Alstair. Its nothing new and nothing original, and really, it did not bring traditional WRPGs to the modern world. In fact, it failed to do so and that's why they are changes. Nevermind the gameplay is BAD, especially on consoles with poor balancing and bugs. Any RPG that lets me succeed with only mages has problems.

I'm pretty sure they got reassigned and not voluntarily. Dead Space 3 was a major commercial flop so fans are lucky EA didn't completely shitcan it (at least publicly).
