What video game soundtracks have you listened to while not playing the game itself?

I would say my most listened to soundtrack while not playing the actual game itself is Persona 5. It's upbeat and catchy. There have been others as well, but nothing as much as I do Persona. Kudos to Atlas for making great soundtracks. What about you, SW? What video game soundtracks have you listened to while not playing games?

I don't think I've ever listen to a video game sound track outside of the game.

The messenger has a lot of great ones

Probably The Elder Scroll Morrowind. Actually never played it but the theme song is so damn good. Personally one of the best theme songs.

Other than that probably Persona music especially Persona 3, FF music (various), KH music (various).

*Wiping All Out from Persona 3P is my fav battle theme ever. Loving Hollow from FF7R and Utada Hikaru KH spotify collection is sometimes gets played when I want that KH nostalgia.

Its a great song and I also likes the instrumental ver. Hollow Sky when we met and partner with Aerith in Chapter 8. Kinda funny, and I actually teared a bit how the meaning of the song is super spoilery and its played there. Excited on what that unknown journey leads to.

Fully expecting FF7R to win the best OST of the year.

Probably listened to the Hotline Miami 1/2 OST the most on the MP3 player.

Outrun. The Amstrad CPC version came with the two music tracks on a separate cassette which I listened to once.

There are some examples including Final Fantasy VII, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and some of the recent Fire Emblem titles (Awakening, Fates, Three Houses).

My best 3 of all time are: Journey to Silius, Faxanadu, and Donkey Kong Country. All 3 amazing to this day. All are extremely atmospheric and just capture the games perfectly. You know when music actually makes a game better that they absolutely nailed it. This coming from someone who usually turns music off in games.

I have been listening to a lot of the xenoblade soundtracks. all 3 games have absolutely brilliant music. Even Xenoblade 2, which is a poor game, has arguably the best soundtrack of the lot of them and thats saying something. A shame its host game is not fit to wear it.

Final fantasy crystal chronicles (another meh game imho) also has a wonderful soundtrack. i return to it quite often.

Persona 5 has some great music. i didn't get on with the game but the music was one of the things i generally liked about it (and the menus....Oh those menus :P).

i recently started listening to some music from tThe World Ends With You again (i must get that on the switch). There is a twister remix which just sounds brilliant (it was used for promoting the IOS version).

None, i try not to listen to music in games where ever possible.

I've listened to the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack a bunch, have in FLAC, and have never played the game. Did try once, but quit after about an hour.

SEGA/Atlus stuff mostly, as well as varying degrees of Capcom, Cave, and Square music.

Music is one of the most important factors when judging a game to me, and accordingly, I'm always listening to my favorite tracks, especially while doing mundane work such as reading dense material like scientific journal articles. Just today I've had Yakuza 5 music playing on my headphones to keep me focused.

Why, too busy listening to AC/DC and Savage Garden and Hugh Jackman?

You knew I was playing Yakuza 5!! And it's a damn fine game lol.

All the Tony Hawk game soundtracks, lol I have been jamming to those my whole life.

Outside of a game? Never. There are still some rocking tracks when i'm playing, and Persona usually nails it.

That being said, I need to address GTA for their radio, especially Vice City... That shit's better than normal radio.

I have not played the game Transistor but I was listening to its awesome soundtrack recently.

I've been sending the OST to my friends who appreciate chip tunes and they love it as well.

I do think the game is phenomenal as well.

I'm using some of the music from Silent Hill 2 for a spooky D&D game I am running.

Never played the game. Great intense music for those scary parts.
