What Switch game(s) did you enjoy playing the most this year?

The Switch has been an amazing console since its inception and this year was no different. As far as what I played this year, my favorites include Astral Chain, Smash Bros Ultimate, and Dragon Quest X1S. I also picked up Dead Cells and its seems interesting so far. But yea, the three games I mentioned really made my 2019 for the Switch. Astral Chain is a really unique and fun game to play, and most importantly, it's Platinum, baby. Smash Bros kept my 2019 going with all of the DLC characters and just having a fun multiplayer game to play with friends. And while I'm not too far into Dragon Quest 11S, I love it so far, and having it on a portable to me makes it the best version. How about you, SW? What Switch game(s) did you most enjoy playing this year?

Phantasy Star.

Playing through Astral Chain and really enjoying that. Some others that I have started playing and have really enjoyed so far are:

- Fire Emblem: Three Houses

- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

- Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition

- Dragon Quest Builders 2

- Collection of Mana

- Super Mario Maker 2

Games that I look forward to getting and playing from this year are:

- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

- Yoshi’s Crafted World

- Luigi’s Mansion 3

Links Awakening

I just got mine and I'm enjoying Mario Kart 8 tremendously, eventhough I already had it on Wii U.

Just seems like a perfect game to pick up and play, the game is stuffed with content and it runs in sweet, sweet 60fps.

Mario Maker 2. I can play that forever.

I actually only got around to finishing New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe this year. I enjoyed that.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

Played half way though Mario Odyssey. I like it but Idk, something about Mario games I can never finish them.

Super Mario Maker 2. I played over 100 hours on that game.

Dark Souls was the best game I played this year and I played it on switch. 10/10

Links Awakening was also incredible. 9/10

I also played the Witcher 3... 8/10

Dead Cells and Mario Kart are probably the two I play the most.

I've only played link's awakening and it was mediocre

I still have Astral Chain and DQ11 (and like 10 other games) in my backlog but Trails Of Cold Steel is taking up all my time. It never freaking ends

This year i did a 2nd- much more complete playthrough of Breath of the Wild. Really really enjoyed it. Found so much more than I did the first time.

I played a bunch of old Genesis games on that collection on Switch

Smash Ultimate, Valiant Hearts, Child of Light, Pokemon let's Go Pikachu, Tetris 99, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Rocket league, Dark Souls, and Mario Maker 2 are all the other games I played/beat.

Currently I just started Pokemon Sword. Liking it so far!

I need to jump back into Mario Maker 2 since they updated it, but that game was great for the first 30 hours or so and then really got stale for me.

Breath of the wild, Mario Kart 8, Mario Party.

I only played two switch games that released this year

Pokemon Shield has to be the most disappointing main line Pokemon game ever made

Luigi's Masion 3 is just a blast to play. I love it.

Well my overall GOTY is Astral Chain, so definitely that.

Followed by Luigi's Mansion 3, Katana Zero, Ape Out, LoZ: Link's Awakening, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, The Touryst. Those are the main ones.

Super Mario Odyssey

Thoroughly enjoying the new Pokemon.

Fire Emblem, Skyrim, Enter the Gungeon, Phantasy Star 1 & 2, RE 4

This is quite possibly my favorite console of all time.

I basically took the year off from Switch. I got the kids Yoshi for Christmas and plan to get Luigi's Mansion 3 next year... maybe for the Halloween season.

I'd have to go with FE 3 Houses, Astral Chain, Pokemon Sword, Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition, MUA3 and DQ11. Honestly it's been a pretty damn good year to own a switch.

I feel like I missed out on the second half of this year for Switch. Still need to get Fire Emblem Three Houses, Luigi's Mansion 3, and Link's Awakening.

Switch gaming has another level of games. These games are enjoyable. Basically these games are for kids and they really enjoy to play.

Not in any order:

-Dragon Quest XI

-Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast (needed my Star Wars fix on the Switch)

-Dragon Ball FighterZ

-Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

far too many to pick one as i only got my switch for christmas last year, i am not joking though i have not played a game on my ps4 since i took my switch out it's box :)

Probably Overwatch. I quit playing it months ago, picked up the Switch version in a sale, and it's renewed my enjoyment with the game and I've been having a blast with it. I've also been impressed with the port, it's been really good.

Luigi's Mansion 3, hands down.

Fire Emblem. Enjoyed Links Awakening and Astral Chain as well.

Tetris 99. It's the best battle royale game, good ol timeless, classic Tetris. Mario Maker 2 is second with all the levels my buddy made, been fun, they are scumbag levels, but fun.

I would have assumed Astral Chain would have been my answer once that game got announced, but on playthrough number 2 and so far bored. It's really middling as far as an action game, even as a Platinum one, and being in the same year as the return of Devil May Cry does that combat system no favors.

I only recently got my Switch Lite, I only have three games:

Mario Kart, Zelda BOTW and Doom 3.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

I just realized I may not finish Astral Chain this year. Alright game, but PG is overrated. I was hoping it would be almost as gripping as Nier: Automata.

I just got a Switch about a month ago, so right now I'd say Fire Emblem Three Houses. (I own, but haven't played, BotW, Mario Odyssey, and Octopath Traveler)

Also, I've been enjoying Slay the Spire which is amazing.
