What score will Halflife: Alyx get?

Will be a 6 or 7, mediocre, wont be surprised if it scores high though since its competing with VR games and not the traditional FPS games.

I don't know. Pretty certain it will be a good game, the slow pace fits the format and being able to be immersed in the HL universe is in it self a huge plus. It might get a 9.

Even if it is (somehow) doesn't get a 10 on Gamespot it will no doubt be sitting with a 95% - 96% metacritic.

It appears also Valve are unable to cope with the demand.

Most likely ensuring more VR titles, after all, it's in their interest to support their user-base.

Honestly, who knows. I hope it does well. One thing I do know is that whatever it scores, hyperventilating non-VR gaming haters are going to hyperventilate. A lot.

I'll go with 10 because the game looks good, plus its Half-Life and Valve.

Probably a 9 or a 10 on GS. There's nothing else really quite like this on the market.

They will be okay, did you read the first response?... Yeah seams like they will lean on the old "standards are lower on that platform so a 9 is more like a 7".

So even if this game is the PERFECT VR game they will still tell them selves its "really" a 7/10 and not worth their time/money.

Its the same old s*** PC games use to get back in the day, at the end of the day these people are just weak and pathetic and rather than actually admitting that they want to play it but can't afford a high end PC and VR setup to go with it they will just say its meh.

The sad thing is they are their own worst enemy and the main reason why developers don't take risks.

Hard to tell with GS as they can be really harsh. Let's say an 8 or 9 here.

Elsewhere, I can see it getting 10s if Valve keeps that same magic they used to have in their games.

9/10 on here. The thing that amazes me the most about this game is how vr jank free it is when compared to all vr games currently released. I'm so used to hands, objects and your gun clipping through everything and the physics being janky af. I have not seen any of it from all the videos released. Their very first gameplay video that came out a few months ago, i could've bet that was fake gameplay because it looked too smooth and jank free for vr standards. Dunno how they've done this. Maybe its the first vr game with a budget over $1000.

I have no doubt that the game will be great. Valve wouldn't release another HL game after so long if it wasn't. I predict a 9 or possibly a 10 due to it being the first major AAA VR game.

It'll rate a 9 or higher, but only because VR fanboys are desperate to convince themselves that their clunky and overpriced headsets weren't a waste of money.

@uninspiredcup: I suspect it will be an average but overated game. I've not seen anything to convince me that it's anything but standard VR fare.

Super Mario 64 / 10

Plays like the opposite of Doom. You are not exactly mobile and neither are the enemies. But the game of course has other qualities like much deeper enviromental interaction. Looks cool!
