What next gen systems do you have/getting?

I have a PS5! And it's a god tier system. Would consider XSX if it wasn't for MS putting their games on PC.

And I have the beastly Switch too.

As for my answer, short version: probably none of them. Long version:

Xbox Series X/S: 0% probability. Their games are coming to PC anyway.

Nintendo Switch: 12% probability. I've played a few Zelda games, and generally like them, but I've never considered them must-buys. Would be nice to play BOTW and its sequel, but I'm not losing sleep over it. I can't justify buying a whole console just for one game.

PlayStation 5: let me put it this way; I never, ever randomly carry around $560 in my pocket. But at this point, if I did have that money, and I see a copy of Horizon Forbidden West sitting next to a PS5, I feel it's going 50-50 chance I'm going to impulse buy. My higher brain is still telling me that buying a console for one game is a stupid idea. Unlike with the Switch, my higher brain is not winning this argument.

I have the PS5 for me and a Switch for the family but I'll play Zelda and Smash or something with the kids.

For your info, the Switch does NOT go in the bathroom. In fact 95% of the time it's docked.

PlayStation 5 :- Check, plays mostly PS4 games "we believe in generations".

Have the PS5. Would get the X if the system wasn't as pointless. The Switch is out of the question. Couldn't care less about portability because when i am on the go, i am actually doing shit, not playing video games.

I'll be grab a ps5 when readily available in no rush as my ps4 backlog never seems to end.

Interesting that you listed the Switch as a system used for the bathroom, but I do not know anyone that ever plays a handheld system or a mobile phone while using the toilet. I do not play the Switch on the toilet as I am more concerned of relieving myself than playing a game (which I can wait).

PC is the only way from this point forward. I sold my ps4 slim for $300 lmao. I have an Xbox one X and its cool for the enhanced 360 games like skate 3 and others but I will not, for the first time in my life, buy a system this gen or next. PC beats everything and I can browse the net on it too! Who would have thunk.

PS5 and PC, nothing on X1X.

I may skip on PS5 this gen, I barely played my PS4 last gen but it wasn't for a lack of games to play on it. I play most my games on Xbox but more than that I use it for various streaming apps and where I mainly have the friends I play online games with, I pretty much turn it on whenever my TV is on and that's pretty much it. I use my Switch like a portable so it isn't in a same consideration at the moment.

I may still get one depending on how things play out. Hopefully as improvements implemented in new models, it being cheaper, and updates to PS Plus and Now. Hopefully if Sony gets something on par with Game Pass that covers their first party line-up maybe I might consider it later.

Have a XBX for Ninja Gaiden, PS4 for Netflix.

I don't mind playing my switch lite on the toilet but I would be scared to play in a bath tub sometimes I drop things and I get scared.

Switch for the amazing Nintendo exclusives

Series X for upgraded Xbone library and future games.

PC because of course for games that are better on it than consoles and PC exclusives.

No need for Sony's movie games or its insane insecure fanboys.

I got a PS5. I think the hype around it and the scalper nonsense played a lot in me getting it. It was available and I took the opportunity. I'm playing PS4 games mostly. Don't regret it, it's a lot quieter than my PS4 Pro. Just takes up more space and the white colour sticks out. PC is still my main platform.

PS4 Pro atm. Plenty of fun times with my pro and backlogs I plan to clear. No rush at all to purchase either new generation machines, especially the shortages, screw that. I'll probably wait for a mid-gen upgrade (if any) or their Slim versions. And more importantly if the games are interesting.

I'm leaning towards PS5. But with the acquisition by MS, I may lean towards XSX. Who knows, I maybe end up getting both. Right now, I'm pretty satisfied with my Pro.

Weird flex, but I love both. Prefer Ninja Gaiden tho. None of the leveling/loot noise, just pure action. Then the combat itself having far greater mobility and precision.

Still, Nioh has the best ARPG combat and NGB/NG2 are among my favorite action games. Great in their own ways, glad I don't have to choose.

PS5 and PC. If Ninty release a Switch 2.0, i'll probably pick that up as well.

PC since it is already 2 gens ahead. But I'll get a PS5 slim, or when the PS5 is like 250 bucks. Not worth it to buy consoles at full price. Maybe Nintendo's, but they've been pieces of shits lately, so I may skip the next switch successor.

Not a lot that I know of. But I rarely look at major gaming news these days. I mostly get my news here, ironically, in SW. Or Gematsu lol. Only games I know they've announced for 2021 are Monster Hunter: Rise(which may come to PC) and Bravely Default 2.

That's not too bad, actually. We shall see. My Pro fits perfectly vertically with a stand in my Ikea Kallax cubicle.

Well, I'll be getting a new GPU. I was considering the 6800 XT but the 3060 from Nvidia makes a compelling argument. I want to wait and see what AMD's answer to that will be. And I just bought a Switch less than a week ago, my first console purchase in over a decade. And once they're available I will probably get a Series S, mostly for backwards compatibility and XBLA stuff that doesn't need the hardware the series X offers so I might as well get the more compact, all digital system for that purpose.

I anticipate a lot of modding opportunities for the Series S, and I like the simplicity of it being little more than a single PCB.
