I know this is supposed to be just a PC thread so this is a little overkill but I take my entertainment setup a little too seriously so I'm gonna be quite detailed, lol.

PC:

  • Motherboard: ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4
  • CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 1600 6-Core 3.2 GHz (3.6 GHz Turbo)
  • CPU Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
  • GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080Ti (I think its the non-extreme version)
  • Ram: G.SKILL FORTIS Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200)
  • PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W
  • SSD: Intel 330 Series Maple Crest 2.5" 120GB SATA III
  • HDD: Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
  • Case: Zalman Z9 Plus
  • OS: Windows 10 Professional (Latest Build)

Desktop Peripherals & Accessories:

  • Monitor: Acer Predator 27 XB271HU IPS 165HZ (2560x1440)
  • Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Core RGB
  • Keyboard: Coolermaster Masterkeys Pro L
  • Speakers: Logtitech Z625
  • Headphones: Razer Kraker Pro Analog (Green, 1st gen I believe)

Couch/HDR Gaming Peripherals & Accessories:

  • TV: Sony 65X900E
  • A/V Receiver: Yamaha V377 (via optical cable so right now I have compressed audio until I upgrade)
  • Speakers: Klipsch Quintet 5 Channel
  • Subwoofer: BIC F12
  • Controller: Xbox One Elite Controller or Dualshock 4

My current build is an upgrade from my 2012 build. Only new parts are the MOBO, CPU, GPU, and RAM. I kinda wish I went with an intel processor/mobo/ram combo like i did with my last build from 2012 but for the money i saved, the Ryzen combo is still top notch. Planning on overclocking it at some point for some additional frames if possible.

But your current system will be weaker than both PS5 and xbone 2, in fact most people who have posted and only have a 1080TI or below will likely have less powerful systems.

Only users with 1080 or above SLI configurations will edge out what consoles will have by 2020 so you're going to have to make another expensive investment if you want to keep your superior attitude bravado.

  • Motherboard: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming
  • CPU: Intel i7 6700k 4.0Ghz
  • CPU Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
  • GPU: Asus GTX 1080ti Founders Edition
  • RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666mhz
  • PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 P2 80+ Platinum
  • SSD: 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 1TB
  • SSHD: Seagate FireCuda 2TB (I only even have this because I screwed up my order on Amazon, I meant to buy a 2.5" one for the PS4 and mistakenly bought a 3.5" one. I ordered another 2.5" one but kept this anyway)
  • Case: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540
  • Keyboard: Logitech G613 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard
  • Mouse: Logitech G903 Wireless Gaming Mouse
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit
  • For a monitor I just use a Sony Bravia 43" 4K HDR TV

I do plan on upgrading the CPU & Mobo but right now I just see no point in paying so much for little gain. It can wait another year at least.

I am an enthusiast. I am not worried about any future consoles. My current rig is very good and I will have better specs when the new consoles roll out. I may even get an RTX 2080 soon if the performance is much better than the GTX 1080 Ti at a reasonable price.

perfomance better? sure. Reasonable price? i doubt it but i hope im wrong. Wouldn't mind selling my 1080 ti to ensure i can play new games at 4k ultra settings. I already have some trouble running AC origins at 4K/60hz, have to dial character detail and tessalation down. Not to mention that i don't use anti aliasing. Not looking forward to what else i will have to turn down whenever I decide to jump on AC Odyssey.

I doubt the consoles coming will even beat out a single 1080ti. Either way I will have a far superior system compared to the consoles come fall 2020.

The PS4 is supposed to be equivalent to a 7850...good luck matching that card up against games current PS4 titles running HZD, GOW, Spiderman and RDR 2.

Consoles are FAR more efficient than PCs in performance for the hardware given.

If next gen consoles are only have equivalent to 1080TI hardware the actual performance will of those consoles will vastly outstrip what a PC running that card could actually produce.

@tgob89: I don't care about how efficient a console is. At the end of the day it all comes down to quality. How does the console stack up to what is available on PC? Current gen is absolute shit. Even the "premium" consoles are bottlenecked by the CPU and capped at 30fps for many games. That needs to be addressed next-gen or they will be a joke too.

No worries, they are just saving the best for last. I will laugh at all of you playing RDR2 at 30fps. Even if I got a free copy of the console version, I would still wait for the PC version.

It's not just a few more frames. But yeah... the wait will be good. Plenty of quality backlog titles to play.

@xhawk27: I have a ps4 Pro. I'll be chilling until the pc version comes. Far superior fps, far less input lag, faster load times, mods, superior fidelity. PC wins again.

You guys better hope Rockstar ports this one over unlike the last one.

Hope? LMAO! Do you know how much money take 2 made from GTA 5 on PC? Investors would have a conniption fit if they left that money on the table. This aint 2009 anymore, bud. Its a given it will be on pc.

Yeah, I do have two liquid cooling loops in my rig. Also I was thinking about going full AMD on my next rig since Ryzen is killing it.

Consoles: PS4 Pro and also Switch whenever my brother lets me play on his :)

16GB RAM

2TB HDD

GTX 745

Intel® Core™ i7-6700

3.4 GHz; Quad-core

Windows 10

Freaking beast of a machine. I won’t have to upgrade for atleast another 5 years or more. Going strong. Proud of it.

Good PC except for the GPU. GTX 745 is terrible. Time for a GPU upgrade.

Windows 10 Pro

Zotac GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X Mini

Ryzen 5 1600

Ballistix Sport LT 8GB 2400mhz DDR4 RAM

Silverstone Raven RVZ03 case

Gigabyte AB350m gaming wifi 2.0 (rev 1) motherboard

1TB 7200 RPM HDD

TCL S4905 49 inch 4k HDR TV

Logitech G700s mouse

Logitech K400

Steam controller

Two Xbox 360 controllers

I plan on getting at least a 500GB SSD and another 8GBs of RAM when the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals come later this year. Maybe even an Xbox One controller since my 360 controllers are starting to fall apart and the dpad sucks for fighting games.
