Poll: What is the perfect length for a AAA game? (39 votes)

4 - 8 hours 8%
20 - 30 hours 54%
50 - 60 hours 31%
100 hours 8%

There are many threads asking for the same Qn. Just decided to have a poll instead. That way we have some stats ;) - My choice is 20 - 30 hrs for AAA hits the sweet spot.

Not sure what kind of response you're looking for with a poll that doesn't have options for more than 70 percent of the hours shorter than 100 hours.

I care more about how my experience is while playing a game then by some arbitrary number for how long I need to spend playing it. As long as I feel satisfied with however long I played the game then that’s fine for me.

20-30 is perfect but in cases like witcher 3 its acceptable.

It depends on the genre but typically 20-30. RE4 is a game I feel had the perfect length.

Its gonna depend on the game its self.

As long as any AAA game needs to take. It just depends on how much time the gamer plays the game. It can probably take months or years to beat the game.

Edit: Didn't vote cause there's really no answer to this.

It's all about how long a game can hold someone's attention. Some games can have 10 hours of content and some people will play it for over a 100 hours and vice and versa.

Yeah, generally agree with this.

But as I've mentioned before, I'm finding that I'm playing 50+ hour games less & less as the years go on. Nowadays, I'm just drawn to shorter, more focused games.

A game would have to be very special for me to sink more than 50 hours into it going forward I think. Maybe Cyberpunk will be that game. Who knows.

Varies by genre and price range

This is another one of those unanswerable questions. Depends on the genre, the scope, and overall presentation.

12 to 15 hours depending on quality of games.

most of 100 hour games are boring.

6-20 hours

Longer for RPG games.

6 hours for a COD campaign sounds about right. Shorter and it's maybe not worth full price.

Wolfenstein and Doom were around 12 hours.

Also depends if those games have additional modes, and how good those modes are.

20-30 hours is all the time I can handle. I have a life outside of video games after all.

Length doesn’t matter.

Girth is more important.

Quality is always better.

I need at least 30-50 hours to feel justified in my purchase. I primarily play RPG's, though, and they're never short tbh

It depends on the game. Some games wear out their welcome long before the final cutscene (Tomb Raider) while others will keep you entertained for dozens and even hundreds of hours (Breath of the Wild).
