What is the best game you've ever played?

Time to lighten the mood a bit in SW and what better way to do that than to praise some of the best games of all time for being... some of the best games of all time!

I'll start us off:

Although I am GTA obsessed as most of you know, FFVII is the first game I played that I pretty much loved in every single way possible. Great story, great characters, great adventure, great combat, nothing I didn't dislike when I played it. Hopefully GTAIV knocks it off the top spot cause FFVII has been there for ages.

So FFVII is my choice. What do you guys think is the best game you've ever played?

I'm going to go with Beyond Good and Evil. Marvelous game.

Mario Bros., Mario Bros 3, Mario 64, Mario Galaxy, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Zelda: Wind Waker, Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong Country, American McGee's Alice... I could go on forever. These are just a small part of my favourite games.

I find it weird that someone who calls himself a "gamer" can pick one game and say it's his all-time favourite game. This just isn't freaking possible for me.

Best game I played is probably Ninja Gaiden.. but not thatfaraway from the runner ups.. Like the firstMario Kart, Red alert, Renegade, Halo, Golden eye, Star Fox, Perfect Dark, DOA, Mortal Kombat, Street FIghter,Pro evo, GT, Ace Combat, Prince of Persia, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Resident Evil.. I have probably forgetten some games I shouldnt forget but Ryu in NG has the upper hand for me..

Edit: Rogue Spears was some hell of expierence too.. it was so tactical I wish they still make games like that.. Ninja Turtles was one of the best co-op 2d.... I liked SP more than I liked super marios SP actually..

The original Half Life. It made gaming a hobby and not a pass-time for me, it's the only game I continuously finish every year and it spawned my favourite multiplayer mod/game ever, Natural Selection.

Same here.

Altough FFVII is one of the first and greatest games I have played...

My vote goes to Diablo II. Most fun I had playing and lots of memories.

Heres to wishing and hoping for a Diablo III.

The only game ever to give me blisters, StreetFighter Alpha 2.

Sorry, but it's impossible to settle on just one.

Zelda OOT, FFVII, RE 4,and Everquest (it may not have been the best but it was first).

This gen after basically playing every big game released...I'm leaning towards Bioshock.

deus ex 1. it is as close to perfection as any game has gotten. imho it still stands head and shoulders above everything else released in this industry.

please be great DE3 (not bloody likely but heres hoping).

Ive played ALOT of games over the yrs on a lot of different systems so its nearly impossible to choose an all time fave.

The one game however that really rejuvinated my love for gaming was GTAIII on the ps2. It was the first game that truly let me do whatever i wanted to do whenever i wanted to do it and truly felt like a revelation.

Vice City was ok but San Andreas was my fave of the series so far.
