What is the best 2021 Game so far?

So in this thread we discuss what is the best 2021 game we played so far? we are now 3rd month of 2021 so Q1 is also ending so far. so I though now we could discuss best of this year so far. shall we?

For me its easily Hitman 3

Incredible conclusion of one of the best trilogy and only game of 2021 that is so far GOTY material. not only that but releasing in January is just a great start of the year. the only third person game that has this kind of creative level design.

I’m in the open beta and it‘s rad. Can’t wait to try some multiplayer against friends.

Damn ... i hate to agree with Ghost on anything, but yeah ... Hitman is a legit trilogy ... still haven't played 3 but i can't wait to get it later this year, i'm still halfway through Hitman 2 and i'm loving everything about this series so far (ok, not everything, but the good parts are really, really good) ...

So, unless there is a big surprise this year (Elden Ring, Metroid Prime 4, Forbbiden West) i got the feeling Hitman 3 could very well be my GOTY.

I think the only game that I’ve played from 2021 so far is Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury so I guess that wins by default. Still that might have been my pick regardless from what has come out so far. Bowser’s Fury is an excellent addition.

Hitman 3 is definintely my GOTY material then again STALKER 2 will happened and it will eat it alive. Deathloop gonna happen too which will be toe to toe.

No new games stood out for me that I have played. I have been attending my backlog. Little Nightmares 2 would be it for me as of now.

Get all 3 Hitman games. play 1 by 1. They are masterpieces.

I bought Hitman 3 but just ended up starting first game instead because I never played it all the way through and my obsessive compulsive side won't let me continue without mastering each stage and its challenges and yeah time for smaller Game Pass game.

Honestly Little Nightmares II might be only 2021 game I have finished so far, default victory.

Just started Bowser's Fury... it's soooo good.

As for my GOTY so far, it'd be between Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury or Little Nightmares 2. Both are excellent.

No wonder Ghost likes this series so much. It's probably one of the few where he can outsmart the AI. ^^

So far I have to give it to Valheim. The game is tons of fun and much better than most if not all survival games I’ve played.

@Pedro: Hmmm it took me a fair while to get into Valhalla due to the bugs, and Odyssey is by far the longest of the 2.

Valhalla's side missions are far far more varied than Odyssey's so levelling up to take on each region doesn't seem such a drag as it did in Odyssey, but if you're a story guy then the ending in Valhalla really takes to piss out of the player with one of the worst endings lol.

If i were to judge it on fun, then Valhalla wins and is a shorter game.

Democracy 4 early access, AKA Democracy 3.5 which is fine by me.

I’m thinking that Monster Hunter Rise will take over as my “Best game of 2021” when it comes out later this month. Absolutely loved Monster Hunter World and had a great time with the Rise demo so I’m expecting to have a great time with the full game.

Honestly so far this year has sucked for games. Looking forward to RE8, Guilty Gear Strive and Ratchet and Clank.

Nothing yet, but RE8 is guaranteed to be it and possibly the best game of 2021.

The only 2021 game I played is Persona 5 Strikers, so that; later this month Monster Hunter Rise is gonna join the fray.

Loop Hero is the only 2021 game I've played so far, and I like it. So that.

Been playing it for years, but as it went version 1.0 in 2021 (i think) I have to say Factorio; it's rare for me to spend more than 100 hours with a game and I have like 450 hours with Factorio.

Valheim is also great, actually worthy of the hype. Hope they continue to develop it into a greater game.

Truth be told I haven't really bought many new games this year.

You don't need to play Odyssey first, but you should get to it eventually imo; it's a great game. I recommend playing as Kassandra, she has a great voice actress and is hilarious.

Concerning the "new" AC games, I'd rank them as Odyssey > Valhalla > Origins.

so far its monster hunter world for me. it was also the best game i played in 2020 i think. i have put a few hours into it.

second best is Ys8. i havent played a game released in 2021 yet.

The only 2021 games I played were P5S and Ys 9, both of which are really good. I've heard a lot of good things about Valheim, but I haven't played it yet. I still need to wait for Monster Hunter Rise and RE Village.
