What is System Wars' favorite fighting series?

MTV's Celebrity Deathmatch.

A true classic. Kicking myself for not having that up there.

Virtua Fighter.

Im having a tough time deciding between MK and SC.

I'm not really a big fighting game fan. But I've really enjoyed Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur and Super Smash Bros games.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 was the first MVC game i've ever played, and I really liked it, but it seems like it will be the last game they'll ever make.

edit: oh and I really loved Killer Instinct. Mortal Kombat and KI were the first fighting games I've ever played. I played the on SNES.

My personal favorite is Tekken. I thought about picking Smash Brothers, but I like Tekken a little more because it's more competitive than Smash Brothers is.

DBZ, but only the ones on PS2 (yeah the mutha fuckin PS2, and also on the PSP were pretty good too.)

I'm a bit partial to Soul Calibur, even though I know most of the moves in SF. I've also never heard anyone describe Clay Fighter as an MK ripoff, lol. I've been playing a lot of Injustice lately though and with the exception of the MK-esque fighting system, I actually do enjoy it.

I'm completely casual when it comes to fighting games and mostly dig Smash and PSABR. That being said, Soul Calibur II holds a special place in my heart for being my go to, favorite GameCube game. I must have spent over 90 hours in it.

That's how the N64 one felt to me. I think it was the Claytality thing that made it feel that way. Although the physics were a little more floaty.

Smash Bros for me.

Claytality? lol. that's funny. I never played the N64 one, just the original.

Yeah, the last one on the N64 had that in it, and, instead of blood coming out of people when you hit them, random stuff like candy and pumpkins (depending on the character) would come out of them. It wasn't the greatest fighting game in the world (I certainly would not have played it over any PS1 Tekken, Soul Blade, or Smash Brothers, but maybe Mortal Kombat 4), but it was charming and funny at the very least.

Smash bros, and NetherRealm, (mortal kombat, injustice)

Tekken, SC, SF, MK, VF, SSB and DoA. In that order.

I'm not a huge fighter fan. NetherRealms' games (Mortal Kombat, MK vs DC and Injustice) are the only ones I can legitimately say that I enjoy.

Expected SF to win by landslide - pleasantly surprised :)

Scrolling beat-em-ups: Streets of Rage, AVP, Double Dragon 1,Golden Axe, Target Renegade.

Never been a fan of Street Fighter-ish games, though I did like Samurai Showdown when i was a lad and played a lot of Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast/PS2.

Came in thinking about for voting DBZ, saw Power Stone in the poll and changed my mind.

Though for some reason There are more Tekken Fans here than I thought.

DOA, been playing it since the ps1 days. Though I do like Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter as well

Competitive wise = Street Fighter , nothing else can go near it since SSF2

3D wise = Tekken series with SCalibur being near

Mortal Kombat was fantastic ( the latest game ) but 1 game out of so many craps up till now

Street Fighter just because of it balance and gameplay especially Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

Tekken has always been my fav series out of fighters. Street Fighter 4 was also great.

But if I had to choose only a fighter game to play till the end of my life I would choose PSASBR. So underrated

I was huge in the arcade fighting scene once upon a time.

I've always loved Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, SoulCalibur, and Dead or Alive.

But my votes goes to Mortal Kombat. The environmental kills and fatalities will always be legendary :D

Street Fighter and Virtua Fighter

Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, and Soul Calibur are my favorites.

I've always really loved Soul Calibur. SCII is an absolutely amazing game, and SCIV is also really really great as far as fighting games go. Although I suck at fighting games in general, with all the combos and stuff, but I still enjoy the games a lot (from what I've played of them).

EDIT: Although if we're counting Smash Bros as a fighting series, then that would be it. Lots of hours put into the games with friends.

Street Fighter, I've never been that great at playing but I've always enjoyed most additions to the series. Since I was a kid I would take a bus ride into town and start pumping coins into the arcade machines and still play SF now.

My favorite fighting games right now are marvel vs Capcom 3, Guilty Gear and Mortal Kombat . I patiently await a next gen DOA too.

Soul Calibur for having the best single iteration, the Dreamcast one.

Capcom vs SNK, Marvel vs Capcom... That's what I've been playing ever since X-men vs Street Fighter. To me these are the most fun because they are broken.
