What has Bethesda actually released this gen?

Fallout 4 is their biggest game and it's a generally accepted opinion that this game was a massive disappointment and a step back from its predecessor in every way.

Fallout 76 was a disaster.

Prey, Dishonored 2, Evil Within 2 and Rage 2 were all commercial bombs. That means gamers don't give a shit about those franchises.

They turned Wolfenstein into Wokenstein and destroyed it with left wing agenda politics.

So the only good games they've actually released all gen have been the 2 Doom games. And even Eternal just came and went like it was nothing. No one would even remember it came out this year if Ghost didn't make a daily thread about it.

People are really overvaluing Bethesda's importance to the industry now. If their games were lighting up the charts then they wouldn't have been up for sale. They needed someone to bail them out after a generation full of misfires. Now they can continue to make monetized garbage like Fallout 76 except now it will be on game pass with Microsoft's other shovelware.

Their games are typically not very good. That said, millions love them and this is overall bad news for Sony.

I thought Fallout 4 was in general, a better game than Fallout 3. Still nowhere near as good as 1, 2 or New Vegas.

At least they didnt Rehash, and desecrate established factions like the Brotherhood of Steel.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, it was still, a pretty bad game. But it couldnt disappoint me since my standards were extremely low after 3.

6. Doom

I didn't like these as much -

• Wolfenstein II
• Doom Eternal

I skipped Rage 2 and the latest Wolfenstein , and I don't like Bethesda (the developers)

I have some interest in Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo , but who knows.

If by industry you mean fat slobs like Jez Corben who shill for Microsoft then sure. In the real world people see it as more desperation from Microsoft. They've been buying up studios for awhile now and no one cares. Bethesda are not a game changer like Rockstar, CDPR or Activision Blizzard would be and none of those are being bought.

Wolfenstein games apart from youngblood are pretty well received, prey was received good as well.

Most notably Doom reboot. But millions are hoping their next gen games, including Starfield, Elder Scrolls 6, and likely Fallout 5 and Doom 3 are great.

I wouldn't worry about those games missing PS5, there's too much $$$ to be made there. But those games going right to Gamepass is gonna be awesome.

OP, let's assume you're correct, and Bethesda hasn't released a lot of good stuff lately. I agree, Fallout 76 was shit, Fallout 4 wasn't as good as New Vegas, Morrowind is still the best Elder Scrolls title, and Doom Eternal was some kind of gymnastic parkour bullcrap.

But, the chance of that changing with Bethesda and ID under new leadership is much higher than their chances of that changing under old leadership. You may very well see the best games either of those studios have released in over a decade, and they'll be Xbox/PC exclusives.

This is like a breakup and the person being dumped is trying to convince him/herself their “ex” was a terrible person and better off without him/her over a gallon of Ice cream.

Just buy both consoles.

Rage 2 is imo on the most underappreciated games of the gen. EW1/ 2 , Prey, Dishonored all noteworthy and more interesting then 90% of what other big name publishers put out ...

To be honest I have never finished an Elder Scrolls game despite buying both Oblivion and Skyrim - I enjoyed them but they have got forgotten about.

I finished Fallout 3 but only got a short way through Fallout 4.

That is the problem I have with their games. Not enough there to make me persevere through to the end unlike the Soulsborne games The same applies to Assassin Creed games apart from the Ezio games.

Now the WItcher and Persona games I have finished them all and the DLC/Expanded editions.

Hopefully I 'll get the play less bloated games if MS releases them on Playstation

Uncharted 4 sold 16 million copies on PS4 alone, TLOU sold more than 20 millions between PS3 and PS4, so 14 millions between PS4,xbox one and PC is not really great at all.
