What graphical style do you like more - cartoony or realistic?

depends on the genre style of game, if i think the artstyle works or not.

I think when TC says "Cartoonish" I think they mean Stylized. If that is the case I highly prefer Stylized visuals over realism almost every time.

I get plenty of realism in my normal life, I hardly need more in gaming.

Cartoonish because very few developers are able to display a competent realistic style. Most games end up looking as plastic or even more unrealistic than their cartoonish counterpart.

Neither, I can go with any style, from abstract, to realistic.

Realistic I was spoilt last gen with the quality of Sony first party. No going back now.

Cartoony is easy to do, that's why all indie games use it or pixel art. Realistic is way better.

I don't care - obviously certain games it makes more sense to go one way or another and so I'll have a preference, but variety is the spice of life

I like realistic when the game is meant to imitate real life. For the most part I like cartoonish graphics, especially from Nintendo.

Realistic when it makes sense. I wouldn't want a game like among us or fall guys to look realistic.

Don't like ultra-realistic approach or cartooney. I like stylized design where devs can design their own characters rather than paying millions to celebrity for their liking and voice which is just boring.

My favourite graphics style is 2d pixelart. As for 3d, i prefer realistic, but love both styles.

Sea of Thieves is an interesting one as it’s somewhere in between. It has a cartoony aesthetic but has ultra realistic water and weather effects. Best of both worlds.

“Cartoony” can be more visually impressive and varied. Realistic will always look a little off.

I would say normally realistic but I love how BOTW looked had never seen a game with its art style before it came out and Kena bridge of spirts looks really nice and ratchet and clank rift apart looks so so good and is so fun to play.

Games that try too hard to be realistic looking do tend to show their age over time. Nintendo is the king of cartoony and their games hold up for ever.

Depends on the game... and Depends should be a choice.

Stylised graphics look good forever. Realistic graphics only stay good for a few months.

Cartoony games are much easy to make them look good since they don't need high poly count or really detailed worlds that look like life like example : rachet and clank
