What franchise that never had Bad game?

Theres many great franchises but every franchise involved a black sheep or a bad game. even Deus Ex had Invinible wars. and some franchise where first part is so great that every game in series suck (ala FEAR and Crysis).

so what franchise that never had single bad game? I think its Half life or Doom.

Half life has 2 games and 2 episodes in main series all groundbreaking. except EP1 which was weakest.

Doom has all 4 amazing games. first 2 revolutionize FPS genre, 3 was great evolution and different breed. 4 back to roots and is best FPS of decade.

hopefully track record of Doom remain same.

so what series come to your mind to not to have a bad game?

The Witcher, Mass Effect (If it wasn't for that shitty ending), Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid (All Kojima's work)

Basically, Anything Naughty Dog, CDProjektRED or Kojima touches, it turns into gold!

MGS has a lot of weird spinoffs and im fairly certain at least one of them has to be bad.

Besides that, Witcher and Doom are the first to come to mind. Something like not having a single bad game is only possible for smaller/newer franchises. Most older/larger IPs will have at least one bad game. Whether its a main game or spinoff is a different topic.

Well if you're talking JUST the MGS games, then sure. I could probably agree with that, though the first two were a bit boring at times. But Metal Gear is a larger franchise then just the 6 main Solid games.

and also MGS5 was only good for first 20 minutes then you are doing same thing over and over and over again. same type of mission objective make it most repetetive game in recent memories.

@ghosts4ever: Well as long as the combat and mechanics are still fun, thats not a bad game. I havent played V yet, as i still need to beat IV. But im still pretty hyped to eventually play it.

most open world games are boring travelling from point A to point B. but in MGS5 its just too repetetive. capturing same checkpost over and over again.

its insult to humanity how this game get 10 across all over the critics even it is unfinished that last chapter cut.

Agreed. Also i cant think of a bad Burnout game. Though i could be wrong there.

Technically Dragons Dogma is only a series of 1.5 games, but its a fantastic game. So it counts.

Technically Uncharted.

I didn't really like Uncharted 3 that much, but it wasn't a terrible game by any means.

Also Dark Souls. All 3 games (and adding Demon's Souls and Bloodborne) are amazing.

only witcher 2 is good one. TW3 is most overrated game currently today along with MGS5.

It isnt overrated if it lives up to the hype. Even if it is, its at least a few times better than Witcher 2. Dont even try to claim that.

Still Better than any FPS of today.

Uncharted tops my list. Even GA on PSV was good. Heck, even the Uncharted card game on PSV was fun.

Assassins Creed - either good or mediocre but not bad.

Shenmue - really great series. The 3rd can't come soon enough. Pledged $113.

Unreal Tournament - best FPS series IMO

Sadly that's about all I can think of. What used to be my favorite series, Resident Evil has had a handfull of craptacular games. Tomb Raider is another favorite but Angel of Darkness is that series' black spot. Next up, The Last of Us isn't yet a series.

I don't think GTA ever had an outright bad game. Battlefield's main franchise has never had a bad game either, only a really bad launch of Battlefield 4.
