I will most likely get the Nintendo NX if it really does come out in 2016. As for games, I'm getting Persona 5, Uncharted 4, and Legend of Zelda on day 1 for sure. What about you, SW?

Assuming these come out:
For the NX, I'm waiting to know, well, anything more about it before I even begin to contemplate a purchase.

lol since when do you not support Nintendo?

Hm? Plenty of Nintendo games in that list :/
Mass Effect: Andromeda, Fire Emblem: Fates, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Legend of Zelda 2016 (if it does come out in 2016), Persona 5 (ditto), Uncharted 4.
Zelda...hopefully its for nx because Id rather invest in a new console than another wii u. I sold my wii u about a year ago and the only thing that would force me to buy another is if zepda is not ported to nx.
Other than than, 2016 isnt looking very interesting to me.
Yooka-Laylee
Rachet &Clank remake
RE2 remake, but it probably wont come in 2016.
Persona 5
Fire Emblem Fates
Legend of Zelda
NX if it releases and it's what I'm hoping for.
The rest I can wait for price drops on.
Assuming they come out in 2016
@SolidGame_basic:
* Street Fighter 5 ( most competitive fighting game out there , must buy )
* Lost Ark Online ( assuming gets a 2016 release and its pay to buy )
* The Last Guardian ( Unique game , must buy )
* Uncharted 4 ( Its for a reason why i saw a single gameplay demo over 10 times now )
* Mass Effect Andromeda ( Must play , period )
* Cuphead ( if gets a PC release in 2016 , i really like the concept and art )
* Dark Souls 3 ( nuff said )
Zelda would have been up there if Nintendo was 3rd party easily since its a unique game that always look appealing. Ill rent it as usual with a console for a week for as much as 20$ max.
For all the games mentioned above i wont give an F about any critics , user reviews , hype or negativity ... Are day 1 purchase whatever the case.
Now for games like Final Fantasy 15 and many others AAA caliber games that i really like but im optimistic about them ill wait for overall user reviews score and overall critics opinions. I wont waste a single $ again for games that wont deliver and are all about hype and nostalgia/marketing.
I'll probably day one purchase the remarkable and unremarkable alike. Anyhow, first couple purchases this coming year will likely be Resident Evil 0 Remastered & Rebel Galaxy, both for Xbox One.
Dark Souls III first week pc unless something horribly wrong with it
Dragon Dogma pc first week as well
XCom 2
Unreal Tournament 4(f2p)
Total War: Warhammer
Fortnite
Squadron 42
Street Fighter V
Gears of War 4
Cuphead
Day 1 purchases are for suckers. Almost as bad as pre-orders (emphasis almost). When quality of games on release is more than ever questionable at best and dubious at worst (to say nothing of Day 1 patches) it's a fools gambit to buy a game right away with so little critical information to go on.
And then there's pricing. No one should ever have to pay $60 for a potentially faulty game. And here where I live in Canada, PS4 and XB1 prices have gone from $70 now up to $80. EIGHTY DOLLARS!! And that's not even for a special/collectors edition. No that's just for the standard game.
It's better to wait for price drops or holiday deals. And the wait is even shorter on PC. If more gamers exercised self control the industry would fail to exploit the pricing. But I would also say people who are too impatient to wait for a better deal deserve to get ripped off.
Too many for me to list as 2016 is going to be a great year for gaming. I can't wait to see what Nintendo has planned.
@AdobeArtist: Naw, bro. For games you know you will love, from developers and franchises you trust, there's nothing wrong with buying day one or even pre-ordering. Like, Persona 5 or Zelda, I'm not going to even think and I'm pulling the trigger on pre-ordering those as soon as I can. Will they be expensive? Hell yeah, they will be. Do I care? No, they pay for themselves by sheer virtue of just how much I enjoy them.
Buying things you know you enjoy on faith on day one isn't stupid, it's a very smart purchasing decision. If someone knows that they like Call of Duty, why would they not want to get the new one as soon as it is out? And hey, to them, maybe it's worth the $60.
I have no idea. I have had such a big backlog for several years that I almost never buy anything day 1 anymore.

The only time I pre-order is if there is some type of pre-order bonus. For awhile, stores used to give $20 gift card to pre-order most big games, but that type of promotion is getting more uncommon. Now it seems $10 at best.
If the NX releases this year, I'll buy that and a game for it on day 1. Other than that, unless there is a special day 1 discount or incentive, I tend to avoid buying games on day 1 since the game will be much cheaper in just a few months and I have plenty of games left on my backlog to keep me busy in the meantime.
Under Consideration:
Man where do I begin?!?!? So many good games coming!
The main ones would be:
...all I can think of, but probably missing a few. Damn 2016 is looking good!
Of course it's likely I'm not going to buy any of these games day one, because I always find myself either too busy or just waiting out of caution for first impressions. But these are basically the games I'll be willing to pay full price for and have the earlier the better.
Def: Xcom 2, Mass Effect, Squadron 42, Zelda
Maybe: Horizon, Uncharted4, Quantum Break, Divinity original sin 2
- XCOM 2 (pre-ordered)
- Squadron 42 (backed)
- Divinity Original Sin 2 (backed)
- Torment: Tides of Numenera (backed)
- Kingdom Come Deliverance (backed)
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
- Total War: Warhammer
- Stellaris
Probably no Day 1 purchases for me, most games depreciate pretty quickly. But I am very interested in Yooka-Laylee, South Park Fractured But Whole, and Dark Souls 3 this year.
A few other games I'm looking to get in 2016 are Fallout 4 Complete Edition, Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, South Park Stick of Truth and we'll see what comes on the Xbone BC list.
There are no games next year that have enough franchise credibility behind them for me to say "I must purchase this."
The only thing that would be close is RE2 remake...but I doubt that sees a 2016 release.

2016 is probably the best we had in gaming for a long time. Theres no way in hell I can but those games. But I want them all and thats not including The Division, Yooka Laylee, Valkria, Below, etc. 2016 is way too packed and neither Sony or Microsoft revealed their full list of 2016 games. Is there a such thing a too many games? lmao
You cant go wrong with either platform. IMO
So far, Witcher 3 blood and wine. Considering their production value of their main game and DLC, k can comfortably say I'll be buying their dlc first day without any doubt
Any other game, not sure just yet. Maybe uncharted
Probably nothing game wise. I think I'm sort of done paying $60 for games that are broken on release, and sell for $20 four weeks later.I have quite the backlog. I can wait.
The only thing I am planning on buying day one is the Blood and Wine DLC for TW3. Mainly because I trust CDPR to deliver quality.
I would have bought Uncharted 4 day one, but after the hot steaming pile of a launch that Uncharted 3 had I think I will wait and see. UC4 is up in the air for me. I'll decide when it gets closer.
Nier 2, Pokken and TP HD
Hardly buy anything day 1 because of all the dlc, patches and goty editions down the road. And I don't pre order anything because those bonuses need to die.
I'm sure there will be others, with the independent stuff usually coming out of either nowhere, or out of early access: Speaking of which Darkest Dungeon is day one as soon as it gets rid of that nasty early access box on its store page. The Witness I have super high expectations. Champ expectations. The most reasonable of expectations obviously.
