What are you playing this weekend, SW?

Like a lot of people here, I’ll be playing Tears of the Kingdom! Not sure how many hours I’ve played, maybe 6-7. Lovely game, just taking my time with it. Although I would like to go back to Bayonetta Origins and finish it. I only have a few chapters left. How about you, SW? What are you playing this weekend?

As for me, I'm still playing Advance Wars 2 on Switch, and also abit of Mario.

Some Forza Horizon 5 (boring game, but the graphics in extreme settings fully ray traced at 4K/120 is something else)

Ravenlok - easy but very enjoyable game.

Will try out 7 Days to Die on Gamepass.

Persona 4 Golden and Bard's Tale.

i'm right at the end of bloodborne just arrived at the fishing hamlet. got those shark giants coming up. this is going to be painful. not looking forward to going down that well in the village.

my little nephews (4 and 7) come round a couple of times a week and have been playing through jedi fallen order. i told them the game was inspired by fromsoft games and they wanted to see, so because im playing it i made the mistake of firing up bloodborne. i was at the point in the research hall where you need to get brain fluid for saint adeline strapped up in the chair.

youve got all these slithering enemies that shoot giant tentacles out at you and bandaged head patients that get super aggro'd and frenetically chase you when they see you. plus you've got st adeline begging for brain fluid. it's disturbing lol. what was i thinking?! my nephews faces lol. i think i may have traumatised them. i shouldve shown them demon's souls or elden ring. bad uncle, bad uncle 😬

At the end of RE4R. No idea what to play after i am done with it.

well, lot's of game in my mind to play this weekend. but i will love to play Zombie Catchers an amazing game to spend an enjoyable weekend!

Finished Future Redeemed which was a nice send off for that whole ark (the inter game stuff is still pretty much gibberish though...:S) ....but seriously...monolithsoft...right buddy....that's enough. No more of that now. Clean slate for the next one please. In fairness I think they have said that too in an interview. It was a trilogy and it's done.

As for this weekend: I picked up Guardians of the Galaxy on sale there a few days ago. I saw it was on sale, the reviews are solid and i saw many "this is a great game screwed by avengers" comments so i thought i'd take a punt.

I have made a start though and so far it's a bit of a mixed bag (i'm only on the 3rd level roughly though. Not too far in).

On the plus side:

• Environments looks great from an art direction perspective (Hey Monolithsoft....weird and wacky in space? Hint hint). Exploring them is nice.
• The Banter between the different members of the team is good. Sometimes it can be a bit too much but overall good.

On the minus side:

• Combat is not winning me over. I'm tempted to just turn down the difficulty just to make enemies less damage spungie. Maybe it'll pick up though as i get more skills.
• Quick Time events: Blech! There was even one there where you had to press RB to fire your gun or you die. The usual button for firing is RT...why RB in a quick time event!?
• The environments looks great but the level design is a bit Doom 2016. Clear arenas throughout.
• Controls are janky. The usual curse of too many interpolations between too many animations leading to sloppy character handling.
• There is something off putting about some of the animation. It's like there is the visual fidelity to give current gen consoles a hard time....but then the animation was built by hand for an early PS3 game. I can't put my finger on it exactly but there is something inconsistent there.

I'll keep plugging away at it though. As i said, I'm still early game...maybe something will click. Overall it's still solid.

ghostwire tokyo. Game is fun, but can get a bit annoying at times with all the busy work, saving the ghosts and the side missions. I wish they had a traversal option with motor bikes...it would have been great for the world.

I’m working most of the weekend but hoping to get an hr or 2 of Call of Duty MW2 tomorrow night.

That Tiktok game with the elf girl all the kids are into.

Mulling over playing Vagrant Story, been meaning to play it for a long time now.

I'm moving to a new place this weekend so no gaming for me until I get my gaming setups operational plus, this weekend is also my birthday but I ain't doing no parties though.

Edit: Actually, I'll just play my TOTK on Switch as I can at least use its portability for the time being. I hate paying my games in 30fps but whatever.

More TotK. Around 15hrs in and i've finished two temples. The most fun i've had gaming in a while.

I recently got Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for the Switch so I'm going to play it this weekend.

Yeah I was replaying Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3 all over again since they were my top favorite games on the SNES, and I decided to try out Tropical Freeze for the first time since I never played it before.

I’m trying to play Zelda too. But I’m addicted to Advance Wars. I even play it at work.

I am playing it on console, PS5. Unlike Crusader Kings III, Anno 1800 is actually playable with a controller. A bit tedious, and monotonous but still a fun city builder.

Street Fighter 6 open beta is up now for this weekend. Buying the game regardless but might check that out as well.

@strategyfn: Okay. I was wondering because I also picked it up for PS5. It is actually playable with a controller. Only thing is they said they are not going to do the expansions for console, but we sill see if that changes or not.

OMG I LOVE Vagrant Story!!! It was so interesting (more so if you like weird political nonsense). Highly recommended. (not sure how well it aged as I think I played it in like GASP 2002....wow I'm old lol)

As for the question at hand, It is all about TOTK this weekend and at least one more weekend before STREET FIGHTER 6! Wahoo!

Don't know what to play.

Played Vagrant Story back in the day. It’s a classic! Always brings me back to the Squaresoft golden days.

What if i were to grab GP for a month and do an Infinite playthrough like i promissed our desperate lemmings? After RE4R it would be an incredible downgrade to the point of me losing braincells just mentioning Infinite, but sooner or later i gotta play through this shit game. Its my duty to do so. It really is. Listen, i have no choice, i have to do it.

Still working on finishing games this year.

If Halo is what you want, you might as well get the Master Chief Collection instead (it's on Game Pass too). Those games are far greater than Halo Infinite.

I own all the originals. And i don't want to play Halo. Halo died with Reach. I just need to do a playthrough of Infinite to see how much of a disaster it really is, and most importantly, how inflated those 9/10 scores are.

It's so addictive! I'm enjoying it way more than I thought I would.

Mostly Approaching Infinity. Love that game. Will spend some time on my Steam Deck, so probably some Project Warlock. Also on the Deck I started playing Ms. Splosion Man on my lunch break. So, more of that this weekend.

Can’t you buy Infinite for cheap now? Also, multiplayer is free lol.
