It is interesting that we went from

PS5 "we believe in generations" to "we believe in cross gen".

Xbox Series "we believe in no one being left behind" to "you gonna have to stream you peasant".

After all the hoopla around MS supporting Xbox One for an additional two years, the system is most likely only going to get 2 cross gen titles, Halo and Forza Horizon 5.

Meanwhile on PS4, there is and will be Miles Morales, Sackboy, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok and Grand Turismo 7. Five cross gen games over the same two year period.

Both factions are singing a different tune now to fit the new narrative. 😂🤣

Fans of both companies have been played. But the sad part is watching the fanboys flail around trying to save face.

As far as I remember the 2 year comment was made at the start of 2020 or something like that so end of 2021 makes it two years.

Yeah kind of strange to see. I want to say that the whole shortage thing going on right now surely had something to do with Sony now supporting cross gen but these games have been in the works for years so they must have known then as to which systems they were developing these games on.

As for Microsoft to be fair streaming games is still “supporting” but honestly that’s probably not what anyone really thought when they had said that.

I didn't pay much attention to this. I'm sure that Flight Simulator isn't playable on Xbox One, but what else did Microsoft announce?

F the old consoles. Devs shouldnt have to make 35 different versions of their games. Fix the supply line and lets move on already.

Regarding Xbox, I guess the degree of this outrage should be measured by the games that get left off 8th gen systems. We'll have to measure the impact in terms of the quality games that will miss 8th gen systems and the emotional impact it has on gamers... of course, goes without saying, the crocodile tears shed from this will mostly be from Sony fanboys.

Where as I don't like it I also understand that since they can't push the number of PS5 consoles they wanted it only makes sense. That said, it sucks. I wanted more PS5 only games, but they can't even get cross gen play working on the PS5... which also sucks.. lol

@goldenelementxl: bingo... This was the gen to sit out and wait. It's hard to say no to jumping into next gen but this time around I feel like my ps4 is worth its wait in gold... Its getting all the new games!

Will continue to wait until the ps5 or xbox are worthy of a purchase.

Yeah, seems like the reality is both companies picked a PR angle to run with that was deliberately polar so that it set them apart from the competition; but their own reality set in and they can't be so black and white

I wanted games to be made for current gen and leave last gen. But I guess I should be glad in a way that, for one, i cant afford a PS5 right now, and two, I probably couldn't find one anyways. Looks like I'll be playing on my PS4 Pro for awhile at 30 fps more than likely 🤦‍♂️.

I'm actually glad some games are moving on some ps5 exclusives and some streaming only on xb1

@Pedro: Honestly that's how I would have expected them to both be from the start, not the opposite way around.

Sony’s comment was dumb. We go through this every generation since like 20 years ago. Companies don’t just drop support, they have to hang onto the past a little bit while gamers makes the transition. Especially right now that current gen systems are hard to find. The faster developers don’t have to make last gen versions, the better. Let them focus on current gen.

Unknown, what was know though is that Sony was looking at a higher price (549-599) before Xbox announced theirs.

They could've easily gone for 599 and it would still have been sold out everywhere to this day.

MS said they'd support the Xbox One for a couple of years. But after that, for most games, Xcloud will be needed. Using Xcloud won't be that bad.

They're replacing all their Xbox servers with Series X blades later this year:

It's a pretty good offer. No one has been given the option for forward compatibility before. Everything in SWs is looked at in a negative way.

I don't think Xbox One will only get a couple more titles. They'll get anything that does not have high CPU and higher GPU requirements.
