@mowgly1: I asked because my girlfriend is a filmmaker and she doesn't upload any of her projects to youtube , she hates the "4K" quality of youtube , says there isn't much different between 1080p and 4K with youtube videos , too much compression and lost of image quality. But well..It might be different and still works to count pixels.

November 10th we will know if their claim is false. I reckon it most likely would be as they advertised. I don't think any dev is that stupid to make a claim about their game on console and not have it scrutinized by gamers.

@the6millionlies: Switch is even worse in image quality. Well, you can still count pixels even if it is blurry image.

I definitely wouldn't be surprised, but it's Ubi. I sincerely doubt this is an Xbox issue, as their games don't run all that well on modern PC hardware. Origins was decent regarding my "aging" hardware, but Odyssey I just couldn't fix.

I am guessing basement monkeys were in charge of the optimization. There's absolutely no way a single game wouldn't be able to perform well on a 2080, its not like a 2080 is a shit card. I am curious how CP2077 is gonna do, because that game looks so much better than the yearly asscreed.

Scratch that. In the video, they stated the game runs at 4k 30FPS but never stated with RT. 😂 They just talked about RT after that statement. Dirty buggers.

Dunno about that. I'm on a 1440p monitor and i notice a huge difference between a 1080p and a 4k video on youtube when on full screen. Of course there's compression, but the difference is there, and its not tiny.

Makes sense. People are going to call 4K outputs 4K. Unless they specifically say "Native" 4K it's going to be some form of upscaled/reconstructed 4K. Learned that early on this gen with the refreshed consoles. And if this 100% true, then the Series X and PS5 will perform the same. Ubisoft loves its parity at the start.

Ubisoft and Microsoft are the biggest liars in the industry. Very pathetic that Microsoft paid Ubisoft to lie about performance on XSX to distract from them having zero first party launch titles in addition to the directors of Halo Infinite and Everwild abandoning ship.

At RTX 3080 with a 3900x should not be running at 45fps with max settings @1440p. That is a badly optimised port.

It may well run better on Console since it's ported to PC, but it's a terribly optimised PC port.

My own PC....

He averaged 50FPS in the benchmark and that was with RT off. That is rubbish for the hardware it's playing on.

With RT on I average the same at 1440p. That is a badly optimised port.

RT is computationally expensive. Pretending that 4K @ 60FPS with RT is common is just plain ignorant. I am glad you cleared that up.

Playing Watch Dogs on my PC right now. It does not run that smooth, can't imagine it runs great at all on console.

C'mon Ubisoft, you're the developer-publisher I want to hate but can't because your games are fun, but you keep giving me more and more reasons to dislike you.

50fps average (with dips under 20) with RT off at 4k is NOT well optimised for a RTX 3080 and that CPU, there are no ifs or buts about it.

The majority of AAA titles this next generation are going to incorporate RT tech.

This game would suggest that 1440p will become standard (and apparently acceptable) for this gen in that case. Would be pretty poor wouldn't it?
