So, I saw this comedy video from dunkey about Heavy Rain. I remember playing it years ago and enjoying it. Did you like it? Do you consider it a good game? Obviously, when you meme it like in the video, it's going to look ridiculous. All I can say is that I had a good experience playing it.

It was decent, but I liked Beyond: Two Souls more.

All unity games are ugly, it's a bad engine.

Also Hollow Knight is a beautiful game! And one of the best looking games ever! Period.

I trust Dunkey, he does a funny voice.

May he guide us.

Heavy Rain is not a Unity game and there are good looking Unity games. Not sure what you are going on about.

More "intersting" than "good", but I'm glad I played it.

Agreed. Hollow Knight is renowned for being a very ugly game.

I really enjoyed it. It's probably the only game (that's a strong word... Interactive story) where I was frazzled with a choice, I had to put the controller down and take a break. It was fun playing it while my girlfriend watched as well. She was into it.

Plus, getting to talk to my friends about their outcomes was really cool. I only allow myself one playthrough on these types of game. That way it's MY story. But I only want one every five years or more.

I thought so. There aren't enough games out there about going after a realistic serial killer.

I thought the mystery angle lost its effect once we knew who the kidnapper/killer was. Though a huge improvement over Indigo Prophecy in graphics. There was still some semblance of consequence in the games design compare to Beyond: Two Souls, but not as varied as Indigo Prophecy IMO. For a while the idea of QTEs was toxic as **** but I didn't mind it for games like this.

It’s the only David Cage game I found to be grounded enough to be any good so Heavy Rain was good for its time on PS3 but once you find out who the killer is, it isn't worth replaying. Now that I think about it, I been meaning to replay it on PC as it's only been like 12 years I played it on PS3.

That dev has never made a good game. Okay, Indigo Prophecy wasn't bad, but that's it.

Writing and animations are pretty dated by today's standards but it was a solid release for 2010

I made the mistake of playing the game immediately after beating it for the first time, just to see how much freedom of narrative choice there really was; incredibly disappointed to find the game not nearly as free range as the marketing tried to claim.

Nah...

Bad writting, story and dialogue

Never liked David Cage's games. Only kinda enjoyed Indigo Prophecy/Farenheit for its absurdity and the fact it was something new at the time. Everything else Cage made after that were POS with Beyond Two Souls being the biggest culprit. Just a terrible game that sh*t was

It was good but a bit wank. My favourite Cage game is Detroit: Become Human, by a mile. I really enjoyed that. Omicron was ok for its time too and probably had more actual gameplay than all of the games since combined.

Yes, Heavy Rain was excellent. Probably top 15 best game of the PS3 gen imo.

Yeah it told a truly unique story and I was especially surprised by the ending (I also fucked everything up by saving everyone and then not saving a single person, then deciding it wasn't worth it and I just left everyone)

I felt Detroit was even better, really enjoyed that setting.

It was definitely something I had never experienced before, so I would say I got some enjoyment out of it. However, it wasn't something that blew me away, nor was it a game that I was wanting to ever replay ever again.

I loved it, it came at the perfect time when I just got sick of all the guns in games
