Was bioshock infinite the worst AAA FPS ever made?

so my friends and fellow gamers when i looks into AAA FPS games. theres so many bad ones but not bioshock infinite tier bad. bioshock infinite even got higher reviews than Half life 2 and System shock 2 which is big facepalm worthy.

The game even has worst level deisgn and worst Shooting mechanics in FPS game i have ever seen in very high rated game. I never seen anything good about this game. Game absolutely suck as FPS. "but but its action adventure game.." no its not. its also horrible action game too. if you cant make shooting right in FPS, nor level design whats the point of making FPS game? that is rouge warrior tier game. then theres elizabeth that annoying teenager sidekick. if System shock remake and System shock 3 will score less than this then i will loss all faith in humanity. this is easily one of the worst FPS i have ever played in my lifetime. the game is basically tomb raider of FPS genre. even COD and its clone are better than this.

@the_master_race: In terms of score in relation to its quality? Yep. I legit think the game is bad.

I guess it's a matter of personal taste. I consider it the best FPS game I've played (not counting RPGs or Survival Horror games that happen to be in first person) and a masterpiece. It's not without its faults for sure but the good parts more than make it up for me.

No I quite enjoyed it though some aspects of the story I enjoyed less than others. I liked the game but prefer the previous Bioshocks.

Not THE worst but it is utterly mediocre.

but atleast killzone shooting is nowhere near as bad as bioshock

Well every bioshock sucked so it's hard to tell which one was the worse.

System Shock 3 won't get higher score than Bioshock Infinite, even if it turns out to be a solid game and remains faithful to the originals because it won't be overhyped and it won't try hard to be "mature" or make itself look like art.

i dont think system shock 3 will release before 2020 so next year we will be playing system shock remake and prey. both looks fantastic.

I had fun playing it, wasn't the worst ever made.

Bioshock infinite > bioshock.

Maybe you should try playing video games instead of looking at their scores.

Bioshock Infinite is unique in that it builds off of a game (BS1) with good gameplay and a mostly great story, yet manages to have worse gameplay and a terrible story. I chalk it up to Ken Levine being a fucking pretentious hack who just keeps remaking the same damn game over and over.

Bioshock: Infinite's reviews baffles me. I am a big fan of Bioshock 1/2 and Minerva's Den, and I was really looking forward to Bioshock: Infinite, which looked fantastic in the preview videos. But when I got the game on release day, I found that it was so cut down from the preview videos, the combat was very simplified compared to Bioshock 1 & 2, the game felt more linear than B1 & B2, and the story ending was pretentious drivel. Yes, it looks great and is very atmospheric, and Elizabeth has more personality than most game side-kicks, but playability wise, it's not a great game, and the atmosphere of Columbia feels wasted in that it should include deeper and more varied gameplay. Overall, the game was hype back in March 2013, It's a big disappointment compared to the first game, but religion bashing is actually a plus and I do enjoy Religion Zealots. I give Infinite a 6/10 and Ken Levine wasn't even trying with Infinite.

It can't be any worse than comparing reviews separated by multiple game generations.

I actually loved Bioshock Infinite and Half Life 2. I think they were awesome fps games and better than most of the stuff we got today. Fps was my favorite genre of all time! And I think Bioshock Infinity was one of the best of last gen.

I said LAST gen. Gameplay wise, I'm used to Borderlands style play which is what makes Bioshock unique from most fps games. I haven't played many current gen fps games so that's hard to say.

Labyrinthine level design isn't the best level design. Otherwise Wolf 3D would be the best shooter ever.

And no, I think that crown goes to Medal of Honor: Warfighter. A once amazing series turned into the most awful and unimaginative COD-clone.

Considering time spent and devs behind DNF,it's a AAA title

I guess it's kinda like Uncharted, you can still love it despite the mediocre base mechanics. Or even gta with its terrible shooting and driving.

The game was overrated as f*ck by the so-called "critics" who like to jump on the praise bandwagon and the hate bandwagon without thinking for themselves (*cough* Kevin VanOrd *cough*) but it was still a competent shooter. Certainly better at gunplay than BioShock 1 and 2, at least

One of the worst games I have ever played..........it's so utterly derivative towards the end that only sheer will power allowed me to beat the game.....

A FPS that's just as linear yet waaaay better is Metro.

If you want story (still bad shooting mechanics) play The Darkness. That's a game that get's fun towards the end.

No. It's not bad, but it's not great either.

Like the other BioShock games, it suffers from too much time being spent on atmosphere and background/story and not enough on making it a compelling game to actually play.

Ha ha ha....no. Infinite was a great game. Not as good as the first Bioshock, but still it was a great game. Still I understand that some people just don't get it, and that's cool I guess.

I wouldn't know since I never played it. From what I have played last gen, MW2 deserves the crown.

I was going to write a lengthy COD post with examples but I just realized that COD isn't a AAA scoring series. That is so weird I was always under the impression that it was getting great review scores (and bad user scores in response). Huh.

Nope not to me. One of my favs last gen. And it doesn't have multiplayer.
