It would be nice if Valve spend their time and money on making games then buying out a company. Hopefully Campo Santo makes something interesting for Valve.

I wonder if In The Valley Of Gods will still come to consoles or remain PC exclusive, is Firewatch still gonna come to the Switch?

I wonder what Valve has in store for them other than taking forever to release a new game.

They're like the most boring developer out there.

They also bought the people that made:

  • Day of Defeat
  • Left 4 Dead
  • Portal
  • Alien Swarm

Seriously what happened to all those people ? They all seem to be MIA.

Looks like James Benson (designer & animator of Ori and the Blind Forest, Firewatch) got his original dream after all :D

For anyone that doesn't know: Benson's failure was his inability to get a job at Valve. http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1024905/Animation-Bootcamp-Animation (starts from 11:04)

This game keeps blowing me away, behind the scenes stuff like this is always really cool to see.

Bought by the studio who aren't interested in making games? OK. RIP Campo Santo, then.

This mean 2 things:

In The Valley of Gods will have the necessary ressources for its vision to be fully realized, no cut corners.

Valve is going back to solo narrative games.

They don't make games. Why buy a game dev?

Valve has not been interested in making games for awhile now which makes me wonder what this purchase is about.

If I had to guess, the developer in question might have some interesting VR innovations.

Valve is working on VR 'content'

Now Valve can say they still make games.

they make far too much money far too easily to be concerned about if people think they make games or not.

they dont, everyone knows this, but they still are the most important asset to the gaming industry despite that.
