Considering you can play most of the bone games on PC dont really see why youd upgrade the lesser device

Pascal/Polaris. I dont care about consoles enough to upgrade. Besides the build quality isn't trash unlike the x360 earlier models.

If you have a gaming PC why would you need a XB1 or even upgrade the XB1? Their exclusives are coming to PC. I sold mine and ordered a i5 4690k.

I'm not upgrading this year, I'll wait for the 1080Ti next year and get full performance.

There is no choosing choosing between a 1080 and an xbox half.

I'm going for Pascal as that's the only reason I didn't get a high end gpu when I built my rig, it's just around the corner might as well wait.

I'm waiting to see what Pascal brings to the table. Might swap my 980Ti Strix's for dual Pascals.

You have a PC and still use your console?! Don't waste more money on that.

Don't know about a Xbone slim.

I also don't know why you'd want to upgrade 980 or 980ti yet.

Unless Pascal offers a significant step up for us Ti owners, I think I'll be hanging on to Maxwell. Why would anybody buy a Slim Xbone if they have a working iteration? I could be missing something, but it seems to be a waste of money.

upgrade to pascal.

i never got this getting the same console again just because its smaller business. i mean its an xbox one just smaller. if i had an xbox one why would i trade it in for a smaller one?

i still have and use my old fat PS3. works grand. plays all the same games just as well as newer PS3 models like the slim. granted its a ticking timebomb...one day it will YLOD. but until then why would i swap it for a smaller version of the same system?

I would leave both, 980ti going to be powerful enough for most games for at least a couple of years. Xbox Slim unless space is a real issue, is a pointless purchase.

I don't have an Xbox One but I do have a PS4 and I regret wasting the money on it. It's sat for months being unused. Last game I played on it was Bloodborne I think and that was like 5 or 6 months ago. Maybe even more, I really can't remember.

Where is the neither option? In less your pushing for 4k gaming a 980 or 980 ti is more than enough right now, even for VR.... As for the Xbox slim being more powerful, isn't that pointless when the biggest games are multiplat and you would be able to play it on the 980 ti?

I don't have a gaming PC, but I have an Xbox One, so I'll take the slim upgrade.

IF PS4K defines the new minimum hardware and Maxwellv2 ends up like Kelper, 980 ti may not be enough.

There's enough hardware difference between Maxwellv2 vs Pascal e.g.

Kelper has 192 CUDA cores with 256 KB register file per SM.

Maxwell has 128 CUDA cores with 256 KB register file per SM.

Pascal has 64 CUDA cores with 256 KB register file per SM. This is AMD's GCN CU like i.e. 64 stream processors with 256 KB register file per CU.

Pascal's SM has CUDA cores : register file ratio similar AMD's CU stream processor : register file ratio.

Another problem for older NVIDIA GPUs are Shader Model 6.0(SM6) which exposes wavefront programming model and this relates to CUDA cores/stream processor : register file ratio and SM6 optimisations.

Well considering I don't have a gaming PC, it'd be Xbone Slim. But I wouldn't get the Slim unless it actually offered something more than my current Xbone.

Seeing how you made up perks for the Slim based on leaked rumors, I would go with the Pascal. Plus there's no need to upgrade to Slim, unless you're one of those people that like to upgrade from iPhone 6 to iPhone 6S.

I am upgrading to Pascal if the hype turns out to be true in terms of processing power leap from maxwell to pascal. I'm currently using a Fx8350 and R9290 and they're okay but not great. Going Intel/NV next cycle. Why would one 'upgrade' from Xbox fatty to slim given the only difference is in the case design? You might as burn your hundred dollar bills and have it recorded then put on youtube. Same difference.

On Fermi right now, it plays everything i throw at it at above console quality, but I'm really wanting Polaris or Pascal to be a big hitter, i will grab whichever top end card from either side performs the best and move to 1440P 144hz. with the x99 platform and a 5820K.
