Uncharted is never returning

What's your opinion on this one?

For me I always loved the Uncharted games, even Golden Abyss, they set out to do a certain style of gaming and they executed it very well. Polished to a teeth, and I don't think much of any imitator comes close.

I don't feel sad that there will be no more games though. I feel Uncharted 4 was closure and it didn't set up a sequel, Nathan Drake's days are done. Please just let it rest Indiana Jones, the third one was a good stopping point. It's over, it's done.

Funnily enough, I love all of Bends games and I think Days Gone is their magnum opus, but the stuff on handhelds was just a blast.

He'll be back when he's like 80 years old and finds out Shia LaBeouf is his son, and he will have one last hoorah when they discover ancient aliens were living under the ground. He will disown Shia LaBeouf because his performance was shitty and then Indy will I mean Nathan will go into retirement again and then Neil Drunkman will win lots of awards for directing this movie at the game awards.

He said Naughty Dog is done with Uncharted. Sony may choose to have another developer work on the franchise. Also, let's not forget that CDPR said they were done with The Witcher before and now they are making new The Witcher games again.

One thing the new Indy does for me: I want to return to the Crystal Skull and see if it is as bland as I remember.

Because all I truly remember from it is the South Park episode it spawned.

Everything they made after Uncharted 1 is too focused on cinematic stuff for me, haven't played any of their games since U3... hopefully their next game will buck that trend but I'm not holding my breath.

I mean the last 2 (especially 4) were not as engaging as the first 2. I'd even argue that 4 had long stretches of boring, at least 3 had a great premise and story even if it was kind of formulaic.

I'd like the series return but in an expanded form. Like how is it that Nate is a world travelling adventurer but doesn't have any cool gadgets or can't craft and use melee weapons?

Why not have dialogue choices and consequences? There were a ton of moments throughout the series where the group decides to split and go in different locations, why not give the player the choice to explore new places on different playthroughs? Maybe you find unique items, maps, keys, outfits on each path.

They just let the series get stale, it used to be my favorite PS3 series

I *very* much doubt PlayStation is going to drop the IP. Just look at what they've been doing w/ LBP.

Someone else is very likely already working on the next one.

I doubt Sony is done with Uncharted. Personally, I am happy to see ND move to different projects. By the time we got Uncharted 4, I felt the series was ready to end. In fact, Uncharted 4 is the game in the franchise I like the least. It had far too many boring climbing sequences and walking sections for my tastes.

The series was incredible, especially the trilogy, let's leave it at that before they ruin another good series, with today's standards.

I love the adventures of Nathan Drake but I think he deserved his retirement. Chloe and Nadine is a good duo but personally it's much more fun when it's with Sully or the allies Nate came across in his adventures.

Indy Nate also fights Nazi and Soviet Remnants with his son. The plot actually getting pretty cool.

It was never good to begin with.

Niel Duckwing can focus on making real movies now.

WIth every coming month, i like Neil more and more. Uncharted is a massive waste of time and talent of ND. I don't want them to build a new game that will take them 4-5 years instead of creating a new franchise or TLOU3, a MUUUUUUCH better series.

I just wish MS had the balls of admitting the fact that they have no more ideas for Halo and Gears, and simply stopped releasing them as well.

I enjoyed them well enough, still need to finish 4 and Lost Legacy, but I’m fine with this.

Naughty Dog said this a long time ago Uncharted was done after Lost Legacy so this really doesn't surprise me as it was already told. I love the games, (even the movie as it's my guilty pleasure) but I'm glad they are done with it, and not every game needs to turn into a franchise.

As much as I enjoyed the series I dont think it had a margin to improve enough to justify yet another game. I want to see something new from Naughty Dog, maybe a sci-fi related project. And since Neil Druckman has before stated that he was intrigued by Elden Ring type of storytelling that could be fun

I am cool with Naughty Dog not doing Uncharted anymore but where is TLoU 2 Factions Multiplayer? Many who played the original Factions been waiting for a while now.

The Last of Us is a very good TV show, yes

But it's also a stealth game and it has a cool crafting mechanic. It's just a fun game really.

Neil Druckmann wouldn't know fun if it came up and smacked him in the face. Of course he's not gonna continue a series not conceived under his leadership. He'd have to admit Amy Hennig was less bad than him as a writer.

Didn't like Pt 4 so this is fine with me. Bring on new ideas

i'm fine with that, I dug UC4 but couldn't get into to the Lost Legacy expansion for some reason.

UC was arguably my least favorite IP of gen 7.

@Pedro: yeah I loved the first two, third time was good, fourth is most overrated. Great series but it’s done.

Not sad about it unless they limited it to one game per generation or two. And even with that low of a release frequency, they would need to make some significant changes to the gameplay to make it feel fresh. I enjoyed every game except for the first one. It was a good run, but it was losing its freshness.

Precisely. It's a successful IP for them, they're not going to stop. Naughty Dog or Neil may be done with it, but Sony ain't.

Naughty Dog is done , but is PlayStation?

Well know that Sony Bend started a new Uncharted game after Days Gone before shifting to a new IP. And we have some (mostly credible) insiders recently saying that Uncharted is coming back , and it's not developed by Naughty Dog.

Only time will tell.

Sony is interested in live service game, so if they can bastardize Uncharted into a live service game, you can bet your ass they will.
