UK Gaming Industry - Switch only platform saw software year growth, hardware up 20%

We have some details on the state of the game industry in the UK for 2018. Check out the stats below.

- £770 million was generated by UK boxed video game sales

- revenue generated from physical video games declined 2.8 per cent

- Switch is the only platform which increased its software sales year-on-year

- Switch game sales increased 90.1 per cent over 2017 (and revenue increased 73.4 per cent).

- PS4 accounted for 42.2 per cent of all the games sold at retail last year, followed by Xbox One (30.5%) and Switch (24%)

- 3DS (2.1 per cent), PC (0.7 per cent), Nintendo Wii (0.2 per cent) and Xbox 360 (0.2 per cent)

- more consoles were sold in 2018 than 2017.

- Switch was the big growth area, with a sales increase of more than 20 per cent year-on-year

growth is good but im sure it sold below both ps4 and xbox. :P

The best news is that crappy Xbone is outsold by both

Look at you trying so hard to avoid Switch success that you have no other choice but to talk about the Xbox as if that changes anything.

That Forza Horizon 4 sold a lot in the Uk.
