Please don't **** this up, Ubi. And please, don't be GaaS.
Welp, congratulations, Disney, you've somehow managed to make me nostalgic for when EA had exclusive rights to Star Wars.
@jasonofa36: Ps5 and open world is a video game marriage made of fairy tales. No loading times, complete immersion. Premium ps5 gaming heading our way!
“The terms of the deal have changed. Pray that I change them no further.”
Anyway this is quite interesting. I’ll certainly be keeping my eye on this game.
Jedi Fallen Order 2 with Ubisoft's blessing please cause that last game was great but semi-linier was just too damn short. Give it the open world treatment if that's what there doing but hey, one can dream right?
Anyhow, I'm always open for anything Star Wars games and Ubisoft has never rub me the wrong way, so I'll wait and see how this plays out.
You made me click a Kotaku article ☹️. And obviously it’s dumb:
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, whose company last year faced a wave allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse triggering a massive shake-up in organizational and creative leadership, described the upcoming game to Wired as, “an original Star Wars adventure that is different from anything that has been done before.”
I mean why did they sneak this passage into the article? We all know why 😞

Is it so UBIsoft can't just brush all this under the carpet and hope we all just forget it?
@Sushiglutton: boys will be boys
Not sure what you are saying, but that’s true by definition I guess?

So every time a person, company or other entity is mentioned we should list all of their previous sins so they are never forgotten? That will lead to a great society and many productive conversations!

Why? Yves Is a piece of shit for letting it go on so long.

And you think it would lead to a great society if serious crimes like this are just forgotten about? UBIsoft wants us to forget about it so they can move on as if it didn't happen.
Out of interest you put we all know why, why?
@gym_lion: sorry you don’t understand our justice system and want to white knight on a video game forum. Don’t worry someone will give you a hug one of these days.

It’s so they can sleep better is my guess. Person writing about it is conflicted about doing their job and promoting Ubisoft. So instead of being hot or cold on the subject they became lukewarm.

Yves is a decent man who has clearly worked very hard in his life to build a company that employs thousands of people and entertain millions. This hateful and toxic rethoric is sad.
I assume by open world we are talking about an online GaaS title. I don't inherently hate GaaS titles for being what they are, just that very few devs manage to pull it off despite how talented the studios are. But Massive Entertainment is one of the few studios that have done a better job than the rest of their industry peers in this regard, so I am not ready to write this effort off yet.
Zero chances of this being good. Look at the Division shitty gameplay, its not random nobody plays that trash. Then you look at Ubi track record and 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

No, he's not. Making entertaining video games is not a free pass to make one of the most toxic workplaces in the games industry. And it's not just hearsay because heads have already rolled for it.
Massive are easily Ubisofts best open world game studio.
This has a lot of potential and i'm not even a big Star Wars guy

And who do you think made those heads roll?
ok I’m done with this shit. Apologize to TC for derailing your thread 🙏
Please don't make this another generic Ubisoft open-world game.
Good luck on those wishes of yours. Please enjoy.
Oh God, the reign of shitty EA games (with the exception of Respawn's Jedi) is finally over.
Thankyouthankyouthankyou
Squadron was pretty good. Excusing the shitty writing.
They marketed MOH as the VR game, but in reality this was the VR game.
@Sushiglutton: boys will be boys
You need to explain to Sushiglutton what the phrase "boys will be boys" means as not everyone on System Wars is familar with it.
To give Sushiglutton an explanation of the phrase, it means that people should excuse the bad behavior of males because such behavior is typical of males. Critics take issue with the phrase as nothing more than tolerating bad behavior (e.g. sexual harrassment of females) and it is wrong to assume that said bad behavior is typical of males (it is not).
Im one of the few who doesn't get my panties in a knot when i hear the word Ubisoft, and i enjoyed the Division 2 (minus those raids) so i would naturally be interested in this had it not been about the most over hyped, garbage franchise known to man in Star Wars.
Good luck with it.
Meh so sick of Star Wars would rather have Massive do a SP story focused game that takes place in the first Division game.

Sounds about right.
"[It] really leans into why we are doing what we're doing, because these are massive entertainment experiences that last many hours, much longer than film," Sean Shoptaw, SVP of global games and interactive experiences at Disney, told Wired. "When people are paying $70, or they're paying good amounts of money to spend time with your content and play your game, you've got to reward that investment."
When they talk about "experiences that last many hours" and the need to justify the consumer's investment, you know it means a shit ton of copy paste and filler content, as well as GaaS practices.
Meh so sick of Star Wars would rather have Massive do a SP story focused game that takes place in the first Division game.
That would be amazing.
I said when the first one launched that it needed a good single player story to explain the lore and what happened.
So much was lost in those found footage videos and hologram logs
