Total War: Three Kingdoms delivers an 8/10 by Gamespot! (PC exclusive)

Here's the review for Total War: Three Kingdoms and I expected scoring an 8/10 for the most parts. As much as I love the series, I'm a bit burnt out on Total War for the moment, but I will pick this up somewhere this June, too many games to play at this time.

High praise from Rock Paper Shotgun.

PC Gamer: Everything about this game is awesome and near perfect but it's not fantasy like Warhammer so 7.8.

I'm definitely getting it. Total War in this setting is awesome

I only stopped playing Warhammer 1/2 Total War because I had other games to play and after 200 hours it's time to give it a break. Truth be told, I'd still be happily playing it if it was my only game.

Total War returning to a historical setting is what I am craving, and this sounds perfect. Chinese history is pretty fascinating, and I look forward to the "hero" system they have made for this game.

I want this but I gotta play through Warhammer 2 first. My backlog is shameful. :-(

Kinda stopped after Rome.

Maybe prick it up on a sale once the inevitable DLC has been dropped.

I suggest trying out the Total War Warhammer games to ease you into this series again, plus they can be bought for really cheap.

The fantasy battles in TW: Warhammer are truly something to behold.

I'm amazed at how Creative is able to release these games on a yearly basis now and still manage to improve and change so much with each one.

It's a proven fact that cheaters are more rampant on PC than they are on console. Now I'm not saying that there isn't any on console, but you'll find more cheaters on PC, henceforth the anti cheat software programs on the PC.

While cheating is wrong in MP online gaming but it's all fair game if you are playing single player only. In short, it's okay to cheat in single player games and really, who's gonna know or even care for that matter?

@ermacness: The cheating argument is way overblown on PC. I have been gaming competitively on PC for countless years and very very rarely came across cheaters. Maybe two or three times at most.

Anecdotal evidence aside, if cheaters were nearly as big a problem as people claimed then PC multiplayer communities would not be thriving.

been waiting for this for a while. just don't know whether to get this or mutant year zero which is on a steam sale at the min. i'm intrigued by the stealth aspect. shadow tactics blade of the shogun didn't quite my scratch rts / stealth itch

I haven't played a total war games since Empires and I think I will move to Shogun 2 first then ROTK.

Creative Assembly grants dying fan's wish to play Total War: Three Kingdoms early. Props to CA on this.

Truly nice seeing video games doing something good and none of this political crap we see every now and then.

It is currently the highest pre-ordered Total War title to date. Sounds like a massive success for CA.

@vaeh: This was really predictable considering that Total War fans for a long time wanted a game set in Three Kingdoms and Romance Of Three Kingdoms is not only hugely popular in China but most of East Asia in general. Total War Three Kingdoms has already taken the number one best seller spot in China on Steam. It's also in the top spot in the US as well.
