a new collection of highly detailed minifigures inspired by the most important franchises in past and present gaming history. This innovative series is called TOTAKU , and includes reproductions of legendary characters such as Tekken's Heihachi Mishima , Crash Bandicoot , Little Big Planet's Sackboy , Bloodborne Hunter and WipEout's Feisar .

To the delight of collectors, the very first series of TOTAKU will be marked with a symbol that identifies the first edition. All other copies produced will not have this mark, so the statuettes of the main draft will certainly be the rarest and most desired by fans. Each of these small figures is about 10 centimeters tall, and represents a character in one of his most iconic poses. In addition, the small base where the Totaku are supported is in the shape of a cross and can be joined to the other by interlocking, forming fun scenarios with your favorite videogames characters.

Sony franchises both suck compared to Nintendo's and aren't even close to as known by people. Doubt this will be successful.

They are really good figurines. I don't get how this is being made into a bad thing.

The reason why amiibo are problematic is because they aren't just collectible figurines but potentially lock away content from video games. If the Totaku collection are just figurines, then how is it any different from any other merchandise like t-shirts, plush dolls, other figurines and collectible cards?

Well we know cows don't play games so they may as well play with little "dolls" lol.

But Jump. It is a problem. Because other people play on boxes we don't like. And that's not good!

I love Amiibos, and can easily see myself getting a few of these! (The ones I want right away are Sackboy, and Parappa!)

Never happy to see any company jumping on this bandwagon. I have never cared for Amiibos. They have always been poorly designed as models (and I'm not even a model collector, so if it's that obvious to me, it's really saying something). They're over-priced, and hard to get. And they pretty much prey on people like me who want to have Link in a traditional Link tunic in BotW. But I'm yet to crack, so...

So....what's the problem with these?

These are not Amiibos/Skylanders/Disney Infinity that are used with games.

I see them no different as to Funko Pop's.

I really don't see the issue here? This has nothing to do with game related similar to Amiibos and those Totaku collection figures are really just for show.

And you think people buy Amiibo's for the lock content? No, they buy them for the figurine.

nothing in that initial line-up I'd ever want, and if they ever do get anything worth getting my guess is it'll be just like rare Nintendo Amiibos and be like $50 on eBay, you can just go on Amazon right now and find better looking and bigger figurines modestly priced for what you want, for instance here is a figure of Yorha from Nier Automata, 6 inches tall, goes for $28...

or this one goes for $39...

or this Persona 4 Marie figure goes for $35, 6.6"...

Amibos hide content, they're like a physical dlc, these are just gaming figures no different then any other gaming related merchandise, like tshirts, posters, statues, etc. Why do you troll fanboys always say the dumbest shit?

But Nintendo marketed them essentially as "DLC", that was the point of Amiibo. In either case, the market was mostly driven by manchildren and weirdo beanie baby collector types bought them. Not those using them for their intended purpose.

In this case, as most products don't start a "collector" craze, it will just be the manchildren buying them to fill a collector case with more dolls and figurines. Something that already existed before Amiibo.

Not having NFC is actually a good thing. Amiibos are one of the worst implementations of DLC I've ever seen.

Getting Epona, the wolf pet, and the strongest bow in the game in BOTW costs $90. You also have to wait for the stupid ass figurines to arrive in the mail before you can play the DLC content. Sure it's easy to pirate codes, but if you want to keep it legal, they are a huge ripoff.

The majority of Amiibo buyers buy the Amiibo for the figurine and not what the Amiibo offer in game.

Don't see a problem or why it should be a negative thing...just more collectables for collectors. :P

This is a bold move by Sony - releasing a collection of non-functional toys, then immediately running out of iconic characters to use as toys.

These things are better already, because they don't lock away DLC.

Unfortunately, I won't be buying any of those. If they ever put out an Uncharted collection with Drake, Elena, Sully, Chloe, Cutter, etc... I'd buy them all.

Gotta give them one thing, they look pretty high quality unlike the Nintendo ones.
