Another win for PS4
The game is on PC and xbox one to, stop being a numpty.
As to the game? It is fantastic from what I have played last night and today. Simply amazing, breathtaking writing, really some of the best we have seen in videogames.
Great atmosphere, awesome world design and a wonderful setting.
The combat isn't as good as say Divinity Original Sin, but still decent but the writing is leagues better. Thankfully like in Planscape Torment you can do most the game without fighting if you want. Instead relying on smarts, intelligence and science, instead of fighting.
Even thought im not RPG fans but this is true RPG I can say and not some shitty consolized ports like witcher 3 and mass effect.
congrats to get a spirtual successor of planescape torment. this generation is so much better than last generation and making PC gaming becoming like a late 90s/early 00s.
Sweet, been looking forward to this one for a while. Cool that we're getting so many quality crpgs and I'm so glad that this one is turn based.
Pretty cool that it's coming to consoles too. Never played this type of game on a console, certainly won't be starting now lol. But still, if it helps to grow the player base for this genre that can only be a good thing.
@lawlessx: They're pretending multiplat games aren't on XB1 too now apparently. Clutching at straws as usual.
Planescape Torment is one of my most favorite games ever, hoping this can capture even half of it. I might not start this before I'm done with Zelda and just play Horizon for a few days before Zelda is out
Sounds like a solid game, if a bit heavy on the world building at the cost of story-telling. I'll buy it off GOG eventually, but not yet.
About 7-8 hours in so far, the writing is simply amazing. I thought Witcher 3, Wasteland 2 and Pillars had great writing of the modern rpgs, but this is even better than those as far as quality of writing goes. Dialogue is addicting, a bunch of interesting characters, an amazing look to the game world and wonderful atmosphere. It really makes it seem like you are in this new universe/world. It is like a more mature, modern take on Torment universe.
The only issues I can see so far is that the combat could be a better (although this playthrough I am doing as little combat as possible, going more for intelligence, slick tongue and a science geek sort of deal). I also think there could be a bit more variety in the types of people/creatures about, but then again there are a ton of cool mechanical creatures and a ton of interesting, unique humanoids around. And of course it is hard not thinking about a certain talking skull from the previous game :)
The setting and story is fantastic and as a huge fan of Planscape Torment, this is really a dream come true. If you like Science Fiction, roleplaying games, the old Torment game or interesting, wierd game worlds, pick this up ASAP. This game makes me want to watch Westworld season 1 again instead of make me want to watch Game Of Thrones or Lord of The Rings like alot of rpgs these days. What a good time to be a fan of rpgs and science/space, with Torment out now and being good, and the new Mass Effect right around the corner.
How does it compare to other modern crpgs? While not as good combat wise as say Divinity, Pillars or Wasteland 2 for me, the writing is even better than the already well written Witcher 3, Wasteland 2 and Pillars Of Eternity. You can also spend most the game not fighting much at all if you want (This playthrough I have only had one fight so far, where as in the early access builds I was trying fighting and magic characters). It is great to have another rpg again that gives you that option to play JUST how you want! I wanted to do this one like I did Planscape Torment many years ago, with as little fighting as possible and using dialogue and conversations over fighting most the time.
Anyways, just my two cents after playing a bunch last night and today, Inexile has done a wonderful job on this, it is atleast as good as Wasteland 2 for me if not better in many ways so far (art design is better and writing is better, but the combat isn't quite as good, although you do have many more chances to finish missions in a non violent way).
Solid 9/10 for me so far, more story focused but less combat oriented than Divinity or Pillars.
High praise from RPS

Lore-wise, it's Sunless Sea/Fallen London, Dishonored, 80 Days, and now Tides, for gold-standard world-building
Another win for PS4

fixed
There's a PC exclusive by former Guerrilla Games developer came out couple of days ago that's pretty good.
In the Dutch game dev community this week I learned from Herald & Hidden Folks that games starting with "H" review really well.
Great game, played it for 19 hours total already, and having tons of fun. It is a VERY weird setting, and took quite some time to get used to it, but once you realise it isnt your typical dungeon and dragon world, its awesome. As other have mentioned, the combat isnt that great but its still ok, and would probaly rate the game around 8-9 aswell, so a metacritic of 84 sounds fair.
Another win for PS4
And yet if I wanted to, I could buy it right now on Steam. It's the top item on the store page.
LMAO... cows are feeling the hurt after zelda.. they're citing this as an exclusive.
the butthurt is real
Cool. After playing through Divinity I def wanna play this. Getting more and more into modern isometric RPGs. Been playing Wasteland 2 recently. As for those speaking on the buggy console performance of Torment, there is apparently a hefty new patch that takes care of a ton of issues. Still, though, I'll probably wait a little while before picking it up for the PS4.
