6- Zelda
7- GoW
8- Metroid
9- Gran Turismo
10- Forza
is this about right?
Edit: Removed Ninja Gaiden and added Zelda (cause it's definitely more popular).

The 1st Halo and 1st gears was on PC
true, but felt those franchises definitely belong in the "PC missing out on" category
1- Halo - Ah that franchise that still sells loads, but gets less and less played... because its fallen behind the competition. and is now with a 2nd rate developers... GO YOU.
2- Uncharted - UC2 was the best, and that was a poor shooter with flashy events. Tomb Raider was a better game overall though.
3- Gears - This franchise is still relevant?
4- Mario - Every single one prior to Wii U is playable on PC. and better.
5- The last of us - Got it on PS4... played it for 2 hours, realised it was a shallow repetitive mess like uncharted. no substance.
6- Gran Turismo - OK, back in the day, but they are failing miserably with it now.... likely due to shit console hardware.
7- GoW - still relevant?
8- Metroid - Can play nearly all of them on PC.
9- Ninja Gaiden - .... oh no....
10- Forza - probably about the best non-pc franchise on this list....
is this about right?
It's mostly right, but still pretty weak.
List mankes no sense. Those are all exclusives to each console, minus NG.
By your logic, ps4, xb1 and wii u are missing 80% of those aswell, plus pc franchises like Total War, Arma and Warcraft
9- Ninja Gaiden - .... oh no....
10- Forza - probably about the best non-pc franchise on this list....
It's mostly right, but still pretty weak.
Nah, Ninja Gaiden is the best non-pc franchise on that list when Itagaki was around.
@nyadc: Its close and it play the same way/and i really like this game/.
And besides CS is a mod of Half Life MP so who cares
In concept it plays nearly the same, there are a lot of mechanical differences, but in reality it doesn't especially given the input device.
I've been playing Counter-Strike since version 1.1, you're barking up the wrong tree.
P.S. WAS a mod of Half-Life MP, WAS.
1- Halo - Don't care
2- Uncharted - could be cool to have on PC
3- Gears - don't care
4- Mario - don't care
5- The last of us - could be cool to have on PC
6- Gran Turismo - don't care
7- GoW - don't care
8- Metroid - lol
9- Ninja Gaiden - lol
10- Forza - don't care
is this about right?
You guessed 2/10. At least in my case.
CSGO is on consoles, it's just mostly ignored
CS:GO on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 has never had a post release update, they're not even comparable games anymore given the probably 500 updates the PC version has had since release.
Yeah, it's the same fate as most valve games on console. L4D2, TF2, CSGO could arguably be considered PC exclusive
**** not given.
Not the same game, that's a modified version of Condition Zero.
P.S. LOL at trying to control Counter-Strike's recoil with a controller...
That game is so horrible with a controller that it might as well still be considered a PC exclusive.
CSGO is on consoles, it's just mostly ignored
Apparently you can use a M+KB on CSGO for PS3/360, but even then you're faced with zero updates or support, a dead community on consoles, and never being able to play the game at 144hz. I also assume the console ports are locked at 30 FPS, which is just... horrible.
How this will probably go:
Halo and Gears franchises have games on PC
Last of us isn't really a franchise
Anything nintendo=emulation
and then a good helping of "lol movie games"

nailed it. +1
Ninja Gaiden is on the PC. And I'd imagine any Ninja Gaiden games that come out in the future will also be on the PC. The Last of Us also doesn't count as a franchise - it's a single game.
shoot, I missed zelda.. but dunno what should I take out to accommodate it.
I think (although I disagree) the majority would say taking out Ninja Gaiden
I don't get this thread... There are plenty of games/series that you miss sticking with anything.
These are the major ones that pretty much the majority could agree on.

There are also plenty on PC. It's the nature of gaming. Stick with a single system and you miss out on a bunch.
So, you couldn't even name 10 franchises without combining 3 brands? You miss something by not owning any platform but miss the least by owning PC because its library is much bigger than any other platform. Fact.

How many franchises do you miss out if you only use PS4 or XBONE? Probably quite a bit more.

Agreed on all what you guys are saying. I feel you guys are approaching this thread as if it's some sort of a consoles > PC thread.
If that's the case, let me assure you it's not. It's just a list of what the PC platform is mostly missing out.
P.S. The majority's (and myself) favorite platform is PC.
Does emulation count?
haha.. if that counts, then sooner or later, the PC platform won't be missing out on anything.

So you feel PC gamers are "missing" out on games that sales numbers show they don't care about?
Halo is a must buy on XBOX, it is not a must play on PC. We're covered for shooters.
No idea about Uncharted, hasn't blown me away so far.
Gears isn't a must buy on any platform.
Mario is good stuff.
The Last of Us? Seriously? I play games, I don't watch them. When I see a review that actually treats this like a game and not a CGI movie I will buy it.
Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport are basically the same thing except Forza is better. Gran Turismo still uses PS2 graphics for some things, and the PS controller sucks for driving.
God of War isn't a good enough game to feel like I'd be "missing out" without owning a Playstation. Frankly, I'd enjoy Heavenly Sword a lot more even if I had to play as that ugly monster dude.
Metroid? I'm missing out on Metroid on my Wii U!!!!!!!
Didn't like Ninja Gaiden on XBOX at all.
Right, that's just a random list of exclusives with the assumption that Naughty Dog is "the best developer". Yea, right. Let's see a good strategy game or racing game, ND.
Unreal Tournament, Guild Wars, Starcraft, X3. the Sims (+ expansions), Cities: Skylines, Total War, King's Bounty, Sins of a Solar Empire, Age of Wonders, Endless Legend, Dragon Commander, Civilization, Spellforce, 60-144 fps gaming...yeah. We're covered.
Yeh one just needs three consoles to play those games lol. And most consolites don't even have all three consoles.

Most consolites don't have over three games.
A lot of Japanese games are missing that aren't jrpg
PS Now might stream games to pc in the future, i believe you can do it on samsung tvs. it might just be a marketing deul.
Also Xbox Live coming to pc. who think Scalebound will be playable on pc?
This thread undermines one of the biggest arguments against PC, which is its entry price. If compared to a single console, then you're missing out on way more by only having that console than a PC, but if you compare the PC to all three consoles, then you're looking at a starting price of about $900, way above what you need for a decent gaming PC. Sure, you could argue that some of the greatest franchises in gaming are exclusive to some consoles and as a PC gamer you're missing out on that, but honestly you can't just bundle the three together and say "PC vs consoles". A platform is a platform, the arguments would have to be PC vs Wii U; PC vs Xbox One; PC vs PS4. On all three of those discussions PC comes out on top in terms of content.

forza above gran turismo.

why would people care if you could play it 4-5 years after it was launched.. unless it was a classic.

And still people with $1000 rigs save truckloads of cash...in mere a year.
Espesially offline single player games can be split between 3 friends simultaneously using offline modes.
These games are FULLY updated with FULL support and mods on steam... at €13 a piece...vs €60
The only franchise I'd be more than happy to have on PC would be Ratchet & Clank. Sure you could try and emulate the first five games (PS2). But they're kinda a bitch to run. That and I don't feel like spending a couple of hundred dollars just for one game series, when most other games nowadays are multiplats.
